How To make Amish Apple Pie
StrEUSEL:
1/3 c Sugar
1/4 c Brown sugar
10 tb Flour
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
1 ds Salt
PIE:
1/2 c Butter, cold
1/2 c Walnuts, coarsely chopped
4 lg Apples, (4 cups)
1 Unbaked 10" pie shell
1 c Sugar
3 tb Flour
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1 lg Egg
1 c Heavy cream ( whipping)
1 ts Vanilla
In a food processor bowl, mix the first 6 ingredients for streusel together. Add the butter, and process until mixture is crumbly; it should still have a dry look, don't overprocess. Add nuts, and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples (should be about 4 cups). Place apples in pie shell. In a small bowl, mix the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Beat the egg in a medium bowl, and add the cream and vanilla. Add the sugar mixture to the egg mixture, and blend. Pour over the apples. Bake for 1 hour in the lower third of oven. After 20 minutes, sprinkle streusel over top. and continue baking about 40 minutes longer, or until the top puffs, and is golden brown. Cheer Kosack -----

Amish-Style Apple Pie And Cinnamon Pie Crust Treat
PIE CRUST
Mix 3 12 c all purpose flour
1 12 Tbsp white sugar
34 tsp salt
THEN ADD 1 12 c shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs
IN A SEPARATE BOWL MIX
2 eggs
4 12 Tbsp cold water
1 12 Tbsp vinegar.
THEN ADD WET INGREDIENT MIXTURE TO DRY MIXTURE AND STIR ONLY UNTIL IT STICKS TOGETHER.
LEFT OVER CRUST TREATS
1 c brown sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon
APPLE FILLING
take about 6 small apples and peel and slice them. [slice them kind of thin] approximately 5-6 cups for a small pie plate]
MIX
3/4 c brown sugar
1 rounded tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
12 tsp salt
PUT THIS DRY MIXTURE OVER THE APPLES IN THE PAN.
TOP DRY MIX WITH
2 12 Tbsp sliced butter
WET THE CRUST EDGE WITH WATER, THEN PUT THE TOP CRUST ON. PUT THE POWDERED SUGAR/WATER MIX ON TOP AND BAKE AT 425 FOR THE FIRST 15 MINUTES THEN TURN IT DOWN TO 350 FOR THE REST OF THE 60 MINUTES OR UNTIL APPLES ARE SOFT.

Brown Paper Bag Apple Pie/Dutch Apple Pie/Amish Apple Pie
This apple pie is so good! You have to try this recipe.
Brown Paper Bag Apple Pie
Please check my pie crust recipe here:
For crumb topping you will need:
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup almond flour
1 stick/8 oz/½ cup melted butter
couple shakes cinnamon
Make you pie crust , roll it out to cover the bottom of pie dish.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until apple filling is made.
For Apple filling:
6-7 med Golden Delicious Apples(peeled,cored and thinly sliced)
2 tbs lemon juice
1/3 cup raw sugar or light brown sugar
1 ts cinnamon
4 ts tapioca flour
Some freshly ground nutmeg
Mix it all together.
Take your Pie crust out of the fridge.
Transfer apple filling.
Cover the top with crumb topping.
Decorate with little cutouts.
Put your pie in the brown paper bag. Set the bag onto the baking sheet and bake at 350°F(180°C) for 90 minutes.
After baking is done, remove paper bag and put back in the oven(uncovered) for 5-8 min at 425°F(220°C) for top to brown.
Let you pie cool completely.
Slice and enjoy!

2 large apples peeled, cored, chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons cider (I used water)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
Dough
2 cups flour sifted
4 tablespoons butter diced
2 egg yolks
1/3 cup hot milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
