How To make Apple Blackberry Pie
5 c Apples; (thinly sliced)
-peeled 1 pt Blackberries; ( rinsed and
-drained) 1 tb Lemon juice
2 tb Butter; or margarine
3/4 c Sugar
1 Egg; lightly beaten
2 tb Cornstarch
1 tb Water or milk
-Additional sugar Recipe by: ROSEMARY EVON EDJX92B Put bottom pastry in a 9-in pie pan, top with thin layers of apples. Combine blackberries and remaining apples in a large bowl; sprinkle with lemon juice. Add sugar and cornstarch and toss gently. Spoon into pie shell. dot with butter. Top with a lattice crust; seal edges. Combine egg and water or milk; brush over lattice top and pie edges. Bake at 375 for 50 min. or until filling is bubbly and apples are tender. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Hope you like it. I didn't use the egg etc., I sprayed the crust with the butter spray to cut a few calories. And I didn't put a layer of apples down, I mixed everything together(berries and apples) It came out so good that my husband was asking everyone at work about this pie. Homemade Blackberry Pie Recipe | The Sweetest Journey
Learn how to make a simple yet delicious blackberry pie from scratch with this easy recipe.
Crust Ingredients:
2 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour or All Purpose Flour (300g)
1 Tablespoon Sugar (12g)
1/2 Teaspoon Salt (3g)
1 Cup Butter, Cubed (224g)
1/2 Cup Ice Cold Water (120ml)
Filling:
30 oz. Fresh Blackberries (850g)
1/4 Cup Sugar (48g)
1/4 Cup Flour (30g)
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice (15ml)
(* I used whole wheat pastry flour for this recipe)
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture forms crumbs. Mix in the cold water until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add one tablespoon of water at a time. Form dough into a disk and divide into 2 pieces. Form the 2 pieces into disks and wrap each piece in plastic wrap. Chill dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
2. For the filling, combine the blackberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice in a bowl; stir together until well combined. Set aside.
3. On a floured surface roll out one piece of the dough into a circle about 12 to 13 inches wide. Press the dough into a 10 inch pie pan. Cut off any extra dough that hangs over the edges of the pan. Spoon in berry mixture. Roll out the second piece of dough into another 12 inch circle. Place the dough on top of the filling. Cut off any extra dough. To seal the edges together, dampen the bottom edge with a little bit of water. Press the two edges together. To make a detailed edge. pinch the dough with one hand and push the dough in with one finger. Or crimp the edges using a fork.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 425F for 25 minutes, then lower the heat to 375F and bake for another 20 to 30 minutes or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Let cool before serving.

How To Make PERFECT Pie Crust
What you will be needing
2 pie crust or store bought
9 inch pie pan
6 cups blackberries rinsed and patted dry fresh berries are always best
If using frozen berries measure berries frozen before defrosting and drained well
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon juice
5 tablespoons cornstarch or flour if using frozen berries.. 1/4 cup if using fresh berries
1 tablespoon butter
Allow pie to cook until golden brown..it is important to cook the pie long enough for the filling to thicken approximately 60 to 70 minutes filling must be bubbling
Icing mix together
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
