Is oatmeal bad for you? Let’s talk about it.
The small packets of flavored oatmeal contain a lot of sugar, and even though they may be marketed as healthy—they’re not.
But what about unsweetened oatmeal?
Here are three things you might not know about unsweetened oatmeal:
1. Certain studies show a significant improvement in blood sugar and cholesterol. However, the control in one of these studies is white bread. The study also only showed an improvement in blood sugar right after the meal.
Part of the study referring to cholesterol was only on consuming beta-glucan, which is an isolated compound in oatmeal. In a different study, the participants all had diabetes, and they didn’t see a change in their blood glucose levels.
2. Oats contain a type of gluten called avenin. This protein has been known to increase cytokines.
3. Oat products have often been treated with glyphosate. The World Health Organization classifies glyphosate as a carcinogen.
It may be beneficial to skip breakfast altogether and give intermittent fasting a try. If you do consume breakfast, eggs would be a healthier choice than oatmeal.

Homemade Waffles Recipe
Homemade waffles are the kind of comforting dish that everybody love and never get enough with. This is my favorite waffle recipe so far. The batter is easy to work with and the waffles come out light, crispy and fluffy.
To print the recipe check the full recipe on my blog:
Ingredients
Makes about 10 waffles
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
2 tsp (8g) baking powder
1/2 tsp (3g) salt
3 tbsp (45g) sugar
1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
2 cups (480ml) milk
2 eggs, separated
3 tbsp (45g) butter - melted
1.In a large bowl whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt.
2. Separate the eggs. Mix the egg yolks with sugar, butter, vanilla and 1 cup milk. Add flour mixture and mix until well combined. Gradually add the other cup of milk and whisk to combine.
3. Whip the egg whites and gently fold them into the yolks mixture.
4. Preheat your waffle iron and spray both surfaces with cooking spray or grease with oil. Pour about 1/3 cup batter onto one side of the iron and close it.
5. Bake until the iron's indicator light shows that cooking is done and the waffles are golden brown and crisp. It's best to serve them immediately with butter, maple syrup or honey and fruits.

Apple Crisp Pancakes Recipe
Apple Crisp Pancakes - really fluffy and flavorful, with chunks of soft apples inside. The best part of all is the crispy Streusel topping. The sugar gets caramelized and crispy while cooking. Such a great texture and taste, you will definitely love these.
Ingredients
Makes about 8 pancakes
Streusel Topping
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup oats
3 tbsp (45g) butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pancakes Batter
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
1 cup milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup apple, peeled and diced (about 1 apple)
Directions
1. Prepare the streusel. In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, oats and cinnamon. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or fork until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.
2. Prepare the pancake batter. In another bowl, mix flour with sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add egg, milk and oil. Mix until smooth.
3. Peel and dice the apple and combine with pancake batter.
4. Heat a nonstick pan over medium high heat. For each pancake, pour 1/4 cupful batter onto hot pan. Sprinkle each pancake evenly with 2 tablespoons of Streusel mixture. You can press the streusel slightly to stick better to the pancake. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly on top and dry around edges. Turn and cook on the other side until light golden brown around edges about 2 or 3 minutes more.
5. Drizzle with maple syrup, honey, or top with whipped cream.Apple Crisp Pancakes-1
