How To make Basic Berry Dumpling
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter -- melted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups blueberry
Crust: Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Cut in sh ortening; stir in milk. Knead slightly and roll out into a 12' square. Place diagonally in an 8 x 8 x 2' pan. Press to fit and leave edges hanging over sid es.
Filling: Stir together sugar, melted butter, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix in blueb erries. Spoon mixture into crust. Fold corners of dough over mixture to meet in center. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 F for 30 minutes or until light b rown. Serve warm.

Blueberry Dumplings
The thing with these Blueberry Dumplings is that it's a whole lot of the best parts of a pie: soft dough that isn's too sweet cooked in vibrant, fresh blueberries and their sweet juices, enjoyed warm with vanilla ice cream. With so many so-called blueberry desserts, you only get a faint hint of blueberry flavor. These dumplings are literally swimming in simmering blueberries, which you proceed to ladle into your bowl along with the dumplings afterwards.

How To Make Blueberry Dumplings Pie Recipe
These old fashioned blackberry dumplings are so easy to make with less than 7 ingredients. Your family will love this recipe and these blueberry dumplings are so easy to make your kids can help out in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
1-2 cups of sugars
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/3 cup of Orange Juice
1 dab of Lemon Juice (this keeps the bright blue color)
1/3 cup of Apple Juice
1/3 of Water
2-lb/4onces of Blueberries
Pre-Package Deep Dish Pie Crust (You can use homemade if you like)
1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch (for thinking)
Instructions:
- First Wash your blueberries
- Once blueberries are washed, add 1 dab of lemon juice, 1/3 cup of orange juice and apple juice, and water to a med-size pot. Mix well and add 1-2 cups of sugar on low heat until the berries have busted open.
- Once the sauce is nice and bright blue add your 1/2 tablespoon or more to help thicken the sauce, then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to your mix
- Take off heat and let cool for 1-5 mins
- Grease your glass pan with butter (you can use spray butter)
- Grab a nice size glass pan, pour half of your blueberry filling into the pan then add and break up your pie crust into nice sizes adding your crust, add the rest of the blueberry filling mix over the pie crust and repeat the process.
- Bake for 15-25 mins on 350 until the dough has cooked with your blueberry filling.
- Take out, let rest, then you ready to eat :)

1 qt fresh berries - I am using blueberries and blackberries
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
juice and zest of one lemon
Dumplings
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
6-8 grates of nutmeg
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
In a sauce pan combine the berries, sugar, salt, lemon zest and juice.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5-8 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg, sugar and salt.
Mix dry ingredients until well combines. Add milk and stir just until mixed and pulls from the sides of the bowl. Dough will be very thick.
Drop by tablespoonfuls into six mounds onto hot berry mixture.
Cover tightly and simmer for 15 minutes. Gently turn the dumplings over making sure it is coated with the berry juice. Remove from the heat, cover and let set for 2 minutes.
Serving with some fresh fruit, a sprig of apple mint and a drizzle of cream. Enjoy.

THIS IS THE BEST BLACKBERRY DUMPLINGS YOU WILL EVER MAKE AND EAT
VERY EASY AND DELICIOUS

RECIPE FOR FILLING:
3 cups of fresh blackberries
1 cup granulated sugar
4 oz butter
1 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoons vanilla
2 cups pineapple juice or apple juice (juice preserves the natural fruit flavor)
2 tablespoons cornstarch(FOR SLURRY)
FOR THE DUMPLINGS
3 cups flour
4 oz butter
4 oz shortening
1 tsp salt
1 cup WHOLE milk
combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl
cut in butter or shortening
add milk and mix until combined
drop dumplings in hot blackberry filling mixture
very slowly a few at a time so they wont stick or fall a part
after all dumplings are in pot
cook slowly and add cornstarch slurry to thicken
