How To make Basil Beer Bread

basil, leaves, fresh, chopped

beer, warm
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix the flour and sugar. Stir in the basil, then the beer. Mix until thoroughly blended, then pour into a well greased 9x5x3 inches loaf pan. Bake until a straw inserted in the center comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Turn the bread out of the pan and cool on a rack. Slice the bread thinly.

This recipe was surprisingly great. My friend, Kim, bought me an awesome gluten-free cook book for Christmas called Gluten-Free Made Simple. I'm trying to face my fears of gluten-free baking, and I must say I followed this recipe and it was a success! I am really proud of myself on this one. Baking is not my forte, but the outcome of this bread recipe has given me a little more confidence. This recipe would even taste good to all of you gluten eaters out there - it's just that good!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/4 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
2 cups all-purpose gluten-free flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup whipping cream or heavy cream
1/3 cup half and half or light cream
1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil
1 egg

Basil Beer Rolls/Bread
2 c. bread flour, 2
c. semolina/durum flour,
1&1/2 tsp. sea salt,
2 tsp. granulated yeast,
1/2, tsp. black pepper,
c. fresh basil,
4 T. olive oil or butter,
4 garlic cloves,
&1/2 c. beer + 2 T. water,
1 T. sugar,
If you don't want to use beer, use water.
Quick & Easy Feta, Olive Beer Bread on a Weber Q
Trying something new on the Weber Q 3200. Needed a Crispy Crust bread for a Creamy Mussel meal, so decided to bake one! What an Awesome Taste experience. NO SUGAR Meal with an abundance of flavor!
I am still learning the ropes with Audio, Video the works. But, Practice makes Perfect and I LOVE trying NEW things on the Weber Q, So Stick around and learn with me?

What you need for this recipe:
- 2 Cups or 500g Self Raising Wheat Flour
- 1.5 Teaspoons of Salt
- Approx 200 Grams of Pitted Olives
- Approx 200 Grams of Feta
- 330ml of your favourite Beer
- Some Herbs Dried or Fresh of your choice
- Dried Sweet Basil to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix the Wheat Flour with the Salt and Ingredients using a fork.
- Grease a Bread Pan with real butter and add the bread batter
- Preheat the Weber Q for 10 Minutes and add the bread pan on a
roasting rack for indirect heat.
- Bake for 50 Minutes and check with a butter knife, if batter sticks
give it another 10 minutes
- Check again when the butter knife is dry, remove from the grill and
let it cool down for 10-15 Minutes.
- Slice and Serve with dish of your choice or with butter whilst hot!
