How To make Betty Crocker's Pot Roast with Sour Cream Gravy
2 tb Flour
1 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
2 1/2 lb Beef chuck pot roast
1 tb Shortening
1/4 c Water
1 tb Vinegar
1 ts Dill weed
5 sm Potatoes, pared
5 Carrots, quartered
1/2 ts Salt
1 lb Zucchini, quartered
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Dairy sour cream
Mix flour, 1 tsp. salt & pepper; coat meat with flour mixture. Melt shortening in large skillet or Dutch oven; brown meat. Add water and vinegar. Sprinkle dill weed over meat. Cover tightly and simmer about 3 hours or until meat is tender. One hour before end of cooking time, add potatoes and carrots; season with 1/2 tsp. salt. Twenty minutes before end of cooking time, add zucchini; season with 1/2 tsp. salt. Serve with sour cream gravy.
Sour Cream Gravy: Place meat and vegetables on warm platter. Pour drippings from pan into bowl, leaving brown particles in pan. Return 1 tsp. drippings to pan. Blend in 1 tb. flour. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Measure drippings and add water to measure 1 cup liquid. Stir in flour mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir one minute. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in one cup dairy sour cream and 1 tsp. dillweed; heat through. 2 cups

Hearty Beef Stroganoff
This classic recipe Is so good and tonight I served it over no yolk egg noodles and it was delicious!
I think some of the best recipes are ones that remind you of people and places you miss and this one does it for me!
I think the reason I add red wine is because it’s how I remember making it for the boys I babysat in college, from their mom’s recipe. It was their family’s favorite meal!
2 lbs Beef tips or boneless chuck roast cut into strips
1 medium white onion
1 container sliced mushrooms
Canola or vegetable oil to sauté
1 tsp minced onion
1 tsp minced garlic
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 16 oz sour cream
2 tbl Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Cabernet or any dry red wine
1/2-1 box beef broth as needed

GROUND BEEF STROGANOFF | BEEF STROGANOFF
Ground beef stroganoff is a easy spin off the classic. It’s made with lean ground beef smothered in mushroom sour cream gravy. It’s delicious, hearty and super easy to make!!

Ground Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients
1 1/4 lbs ground beef
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
1/2 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
2-3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup sour cream
Directions
Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat and cook ground beef until cooked through, about 4 minutes. Drain excess liquid.
Add more oil and sauté onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 5-6 minutes.
Stir in flour.
Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Let cook until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream.
Serve over noodles, mashed potatoes or rice. Our favorite is over a baked potato!

Why is it called beef stroganoff?
Beef Stroganoff is a popular Russian dish of small pieces of beef fillet sautéed in sour cream sauce together with onions and mushrooms. The dish was named after Count Alexander Grigorievich Stroganoff, who lived in the late 19th century in Odessa. There're two versions of the dish's origin.

Beef Chuck........... 500g
Vegetable Oil........ 3 Tbsp
Garlic................. 5 cloves
Onion.............. 1 medium
Mushroom....... 5pcs
Flour................ 2 Tbsp
Butter.............. 2 Tbsp
Salt & Pepper to taste...
Mustard.......... 1/2 Tbsp
Heavy Cream or All Purpose Cream... 1Cup
Beef Stock....1+1/2 Cups
