Instructions
00:00 Introduction
00:31 Arrange a rack to the center of your oven and preheat oven to 450F (230C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside (alternatively you may bake biscuits directly on ungreased baking sheet).
00:37 Cut butter into 8 pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted. Set aside to allow to cool.
00:48 Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined.
01:16 Pour buttermilk into a large measuring cup or medium-sized bowl. While whisking, slowly drizzle in melted butter until combined (it is OK if the butter separates a bit).
01:35 Pour buttermilk mixture into flour mixture and use a spatula or spoon to gently fold together until ingredients are just-combined. Don’t overmix or the biscuits may be dense and dry.
01:54 Scoop batter by approximately 3-Tablespoon-sized scoops and drop on prepared baking sheet, spacing biscuits at least 2” apart.
02:19 Transfer to 450F (230C) oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits are beginning to turn a light golden brown.
02:25 Remove from oven and allow to cool on baking sheet for several minutes before serving. If desired, brush additional melted butter over the biscuits while they are still warm.
Notes
Storing
These biscuits are best served warm but may be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.

HOMEMADE COUNTRY VEGAN BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
1 cup of oat milk or almond milk
½ tsp of lemon juice
2 cups of unbleached unenriched flour
1 tbsp of baking powder
½ tsp of baking soda
¾ tsp of pink sea salt
4 tbsp of vegan butter
Instructions:
•Preheat your oven to 450° F or 232° C.
•Add your lemon juice to your Oat Milk/Almond Milk and this is how you will make the Vegan Buttermilk.
•Combine all of your dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them well.
•Add cold butter to dry ingredients. Mix butter until it breaks down into small crumbs. Very cold butter is important to minimize melting while mixing.
•Make a small indenture in the dry ingredients. Add small amounts of buttermilk at a time, mixing after each pour, until a pliable dough is formed.
•Your biscuit batter will be slightly sticky. You can rest your dough on lightly floured wax paper or any floured surface - do not over flour.
•Knead the dough 6-8 times.
•Cut or pull apart dough and make 1 inch thick discs, don't handle too much or you'll lose the consistency.
•Place biscuits on a baking sheet or pan making sure to form 2 rows and that the biscuits touch each other.
•Brush the tops with warm vegan butter and be sure to make a small indention in each biscuit in the middle, so they'll all rise the same.
•Bake on the lower rack of your oven for 12-17 minutes or until your biscuits have risen and are golden brown.
•Serve with my Raw Strawberry Vegan Marmalade, your favorite vegan jams, agave or maple syrup. Enjoy!
