How To make Black Forest Trifle Dessert
1/2 pk Devil's food cake mix
1/2 c Rum
21 oz Can cherry pie filling
CHOCOLATE CUSTARD:
2/3 c Sugar
1/4 c Cocoa
1/8 ts Salt
3 Eggs, beaten
2 c Milk
1 Toppings
1 c Whipping cream
2 tb Powdered sugar
1/4 c Sliced almonds, toasted
Prepare cake mix according to package directions; cut into 1/2 inch slices. Line bottom of 2 quart bowl of trifle dish with half of cake slices; sprinkle with 2-4 tbsp. rum. Spoon half of cherry pie filling over cake; top with half of choclate pudding. Repeat procedure with remaining cake, rum, pie filling and custard. Cover and chill. Beat whipping cream until foamy; gradually add powdered sugar, beating until soft peaks form. Spread over custard; garnish with almonds. CHOCOLATE CUSTARD: Combine first 3 ingredients in top of double boiler. Combine eggs and milk, gradually stir into dry mixture. Bring water in double boiler to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook custard, stirring constantly until thick. Cool. Dessert yields 6-8 servings.

Black Forest Trifle Recipe - Paul Hollywood
How to make Black Forest Trifle for Christmas or Festive times
My family has always liked a bit of a boozy trifle every Christmas. This year I thought I’d make something a bit different. This trifle is actually great for any dinner party any time of the year. You can find all my recipes on my blog
Full Recipe:
Ingredients
1 round of Chocolate sponge cake
1 x large jar (700g) pitted Sour cherries or morello cherries
3 tbsp cherry jam
3 – 4 tbsp Kirsch / cherry brandy
500ml Double cream whipped
handful of fresh cherries for garnishing
Chocolate Custard:
1 1/2 cups cream
1 cup milk
1 ½ cup dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp caster sugar
8 egg yolks
Method
Drain the cherries leaving 2 – 3 tbsp of juice with them
Add the kirsch and leave to soak for a couple of hours.

Start by preparing the sponge base for the trifle.
For the chocolate sponge I either whip up an easy chocolate sponge mix or buy one from the store.
Slice the cake in half length ways
Spread a layer of cherry jam on top of one of the sides then place the other side on top.
Cut the cake into pieces and fit them into the bottom of your trifle dish
Make sure you fill up the gaps as best as possible.
Pour the cherries and kirsch mix over the top of the sponge
Leave to soak while you make the custard.

For the custard:
Heat the milk and cream in a saucepan until just warm – not too hot.
Add the egg yolks, sugar, cocoa powder to a large mixing bowl and whisk together.
Slowly add the warm milk and cream to the eggs whisking all the time
NB - If you’re milk is too hot it will curdle the eggs!
Once everything is mixed together pour back into the saucepan and heat slowly
Stirring all the time until it becomes lovely and thick.
NB - Do not let it boil as it will split, so keep the heat low to medium and never take your eyes or spoon off it!
Once thick leave to cool
Pour custard over the cherries
Place bowl in fridge to set for 2-3 hours
Once chilled spoon the whipped cream over the top
Add a sprinkle of cocoa powder, fresh cherries to garnish

Black Forest Trifle | Perfect For Eid | Quick Dessert | SID STATION
The layers in this Black Forest Trifle all combine into an amazing combination of chocolate and cherry and cream. You get a double dose of chocolate from the chocolate cake and chocolate sauce.Then a generous layer of sweet cherry and it is all topped with creamy whipped cream.
This trifle is based on the classic Black Forest Cake, however if you aren’t a fan of cherries, you could do another fruit— like strawberry and pineapple. However, I have to tell you that the chocolate and cherry combination is by far the best combo!
Ingredients:
Chocolate sponge cake/ chocolate fudge cake/ chocolate brownie( please look for chocolate brownie recipe i shared )
It can be store bought or you can make it at home!
Canned Cherries / canned pineapple / canned strawberries / canned fruit.
Whipping cream or whip your own cream.
Cooking chocolate / normal chocolate / chocolate with nuts/cocoa powder
Milk or cream to make the chocolate sauce
Method:
Chocolate sauce:
Take a double boiler add chocolate to it let it melt a little then add milk or cream. Cook until all the chocolate is melted. To enhance the flavor put 2 tablespoons or good cocoa powder and if you like coffee you can put 1 teaspoon of diluted coffee.
Cool it down for better results.It will become thick.
Option :
Sauce with cocoa powder:
You can make this sauce with cocoa powder only. When making with cocoa powder dilute cocoa powder with milk/ cream and then start cooking.If the cocoa powder has no sugar add sugar to taste and if you like coffee add when cooking the sauce.

Assembling:
Cut or make crumbs of chocolate cake / brownie on the base of a a bowl. Then to make your sponge soft you can use the juice of the canned cherries .If your chocolate sauce is runny then it can also make the sponge soft.
So add either juice or runny chocolate sauce layer. Then cherries then whipping cream.
Repeat the step.
On the top add the chocolate shavings and some cherries.
Put in the fridge for good 3 hours before serving.
