Beef and Cabbage Casserole Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
5 cups diced cabbage
1 1/2 to 2 pounds ground beef
1 medium diced onion
2 diced carrots
1/2 cup diced bell peppers
1/2 cup uncooked rice - I used jasmine rice
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 - 28oz can diced tomatoes
3 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp. oregano
salt and black pepper
In skillet on med high heat brown and chop ground beef until no longer pink.
Add onions, carrots and minced garlic.
Cook and stir for 3-4 minutes.
Turn off heat.
In bowl add meat mixture, uncooked rice, diced tomatoes and spices.
Mix well. Add diced cabbage and mix well.
Add ingredients to baking dish. Pour over beef broth.
Cover tightly with foil.
Bake at 350 degrees Farenheit for 1 hour.
Remove from oven, add bell peppers, stir well,
return to oven and bake for 30-45 more minutes or until cabbage is tender.
Remove from oven and let rest for 15 minutes before serving.

cabbage - 1 piece
minced meat - 1.5 kg
salt - 15 g
black pepper - 7 g
eggs - 2 pieces
hard cheese - 100 g
bacon - 350 g

Quick Skillet Cabbage Casserole! With Chef Kristi!
This Skillet Cabbage Casserole is so simple and quick but delicious! With only a few ingredients you can have a meal in just 30 minutes. As a variation, try using Italian Sausage and for a low carb option try using cauliflower rice. But I will say if you use cauliflower rice you will want to omit the beef broth or it will be a little soupy. I am so excited for you to try this recipe and let me know what you think. Skillet Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients
1 small head of cabbage chopped or about 4 to 6 cups
1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
1/2 cup of diced red onion
1 garlic clove
1/2 cup of brown rice
1 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes (I used the roasted diced tomatoes)
1 cup of beef broth
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of pepper
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of onion powder
1/4 tsp of dried thyme
2 cups of shredded cheddar and monterey jack blend
2 green onion sliced for garnish (optional)
top with sour cream (optional)
Instructions
1. Begin to ground beef in large skillet.
2. Add diced onion, garlic, seasoning, rice, diced tomatoes, beef broth.
3. Top with chopped cabbage and cover skillet and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
4. After 10 minutes uncover and stir, then recover and cook for another 10 minutes.
5 Uncover and top with cheese and place skillet in oven under the broiler to melt the cheese (if you have a oven safe skillet)
6. Sprinkle with green onion and top with sour cream if desired.
7 Eat and Enjoy!

Ingredients
500 grams ( 1 Pound) Beef
300 grams (10 Ounce) Cabbage
1 Onion
80 grams (1 Cup) Mushrooms
100 grams (1/2 Cup) Tomato Sauce
200 grams (2 Cups) Mozzarella Cheese
Spice Mix:
15 grams - 2 Tablespoons Sweet Paprika Spice
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Dry Ginger Powder
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
Instructions
Prepare all of the ingredients. Cut meat into small pieces, which will help you to cook the beef fully tender. Slice the cabbage into the thinnest possible slices. Mushrooms should also be cut into small, tiny pieces so they are easily spread over the dish. Add spices all into a bowl for easier cooking. And remember to grain the mozzarella or your favorite cheese with a grater.
Heat the skillet and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add onions and let them caramelize.
Once the onions are cooked, add pieces of meat and cook for approximately 10 minutes until all of the sides of the pieces are cooked.
Once the meat is brown from all sides, add mushrooms cut into small pieces and cook for another 5-10 minutes.
When it is time to add spices, switch off the cooking process for this step. Some spices, especially sweet paprika, tend to burn very fast, and when added to cooking meat, they can change the taste. They become bitter. Once you add all the spices, mix them thoroughly into the meat and mushrooms.
At the same time, add the tomato sauce and mix thoroughly. There is no need to add any of the liquid, be it water of broth, since cooking this casserole dish for longer, meat and cabbage will add more moisture, which will be enough for the dish.
Now is the time to switch the heat on again. When the meat, spices, and sauce are thoroughly mixed, add top sliced cabbage, cover with the lid, set the cooking to medium-low and let it cook for approximately one hour. Depending on your beef size, you can adjust the cooking time accordingly.
After approximately an hour, mix the cabbage with meat and check if the meat is tender enough. If you are more of a visual person, check out our video with complete steps.
Once all the cabbage is fully mixed with beef, top it up with grated mozzarella and place it into the oven for 10 – 15 minutes. Here, you only need the mozzarella to melt and brown a bit. Watch out; baking cheese can turn beautifully melted to burned in minutes.
Notes
Beef Size – Depending on the size of the beef, you can adjust your cooking time. The smaller the pieces – the shorter the cooking time it requires. If you are unsure, check the meat's tenderness before adding the cheese.
Mushrooms – if you do not have fresh, you can also use dried mushrooms.
Cheese – I have used mozzarella, but you can choose whatever cheese you like
Cheese Grater – Make sure you always buy a whole block of cheese and Grate that at home. First, you will get the freshest grated cheese you can get. Second, most of the already grated cheese in the supermarkets is filled with starches, so the cheese does not get stuck to another
Cabbage – Slice it onto the thinnest slices you manage. This will help in taste enormously
Spices – My blend is the spices I use the most, but you can experiment with spices you like.
Cheese baking in the oven – be careful and watch it. It can turn from beautifully melted cheese to burned cheese in minutes.
