How To make Caramel Apple Pecan Pie
Pastry for 2-crust 9" pie 4 McIntosh apples; peeled/
-cored/thin sliced (1 lb) 1/2 c Pecans; chopped
1/4 c Sugar
1/4 lb Caramels; coarse chopped
2 tb Flour
1/4 c Milk
Milk; for top Sugar; for top 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Ease 1 round of pastry
into a 9-inch pan. 2. In a large bowl, toss together apples, pecans,
sugar, caramels, flour and milk. Spoon mixture into pie shell. 3. Top with the remaining pastry. Fold the edge of the
top pastry under the bottom pastry. Pinch together and flute the edge with a fork. Cut several slits in the top so the steam can escape during baking. Brush top with milk and sprinkle with sugar. 4. Bake until crust is golden brown, about 45 minutes.

INGREDIENTS I USED:
Apple Filling:
7 Granny Smith Apples
2-3 Tblsp. Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1/2 C White Granulated Sugar
1/2 C Light Brown Sugar
1/8 Tsp. Nutmeg
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
Ghirardelli Premium Caramel Sauce
Cobbler Topping
1/3 C Light Brown Sugar
1/3 C White Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 C All Purpose Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Stick UNsalted Butter (Room Temp. Mine was very soft)
1/3 C Boiling Water
Brown Sugar Pecan Topping
1/4 C All Purpose Flour
3/4 C Light Brown Sugar
1 C Roasted Pecans
1/4 C Melted Butter

Try a new twist on apple pie with some caramel to make this fall-favorite recipe even more delicious. First, make your crust with a crumb topping. Next, toss your apples with a mix of flour, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt and six thinly peeled apples. Fill the apples in the pie plate, and then sprinkle the crumb topping on the top of the pie. After the pie is done, sprinkle some pecans over the top of the pie and drizzle some caramel topping for a new, delicious flavor.
