How To make Cinnamon Spiral Bread
Ingredients
DOUGH:
2
each
cakes compressed yeast, or 2 pk dry yeast
2
cup
milk, scalded
1/4
cup
sugar
1
tablespoon
salt
1/3
cup
shortening
5 1/2
cup
flour, all-purpose, sifted (plus more as necessary)
1 1/2
cup
quaker oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)
FILLING:
1/2
cup
sugar
2
tablespoon
cinnamon
Directions:
For dough, soften yeast in lukewarm water. (Use warm water for dry yeast.) Pour scalded milk over sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in 1 cup flour. Add softened yeast and oats. Stir in enough more flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out on lightly floured board or canvas; knead until smooth and satiny, about 10 minutes. Round dough into ball; place in greased bowl; brush lightly with melted shortening. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in size, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down; cover; let rest 10 minutes. Divide dough in half. Roll one half to form a 15x8 inch rectangle. Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with half of filling made by combining sugar and cinnamon. Starting with short side, roll up as for jelly roll.
Place in greased loaf pan. Brush lightly with melted shortening. Repeat with other half of dough. Cover; let rise until nearly double in size, about 45 minutes.
Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 45 to 50 minutes. Remove from pans; brush with melted butter. Cool.

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread (Bread Machine Method)

Ingredients:
1 ½ cups Water (335 g.)
2 Tablespoons Powder Milk
6 Tablespoons Sugar
3 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon White Vinegar (optional, for flavor)
4 ½ Cups Flour (600 g.)
3 Tablespoons Butter
2 heaping teaspoons Instant Yeast
1 Cup Raisins (add at the tone indicator)
Regular Loaf setting (Dark Crust)
At 105 minutes remove dough, roll out, Spread with butter and cinnamon sugar.
(Cinnamon Sugar Mix: 1 Tablespoon Light Brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons White Sugar, 1 teaspoon Cinnamon, 2 teaspoons AP Flour)
Roll up in loaf sized log.
Replace in Bread Machine to finish rising and baking.
Let cool completely before slicing (1-2 hours).

Hey family! It's a full day in the kitchen in this video! Well, the kitchen and the mudroom! ???? Frist we make some sausage strip biscuits for breakfast, then we make some chocolate pudding parfaits & cinnamon swirl bread! After that we clean up a storage shelf in the mudroom. Not as much fun as cooking/baking, but it's gotta be done! ???? Supper is an easy one tonight! We make some fresh cornbread to go with our leftovers from the night before.
Cinnamon Swirl Bread recipe:
Ingredients: NOTE: This is for one loaf, I doubled it in this video to make two. ????????
1/2 Cup Softened Butter
1 Large Egg
1 Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 cup of milk
2 Cups self-rising flour
Cinnamon mixture:
1/3 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat Oven to 350 and Grease Loaf Pan.
In a large bowl cream together the softened butter, eggs and sugar.
Next add the milk and mix well. Add the flour and mix until combined.
In a Greased Loaf pan add 1/2 of the batter.
In a small bowl, mix together the 1/3 Cup Sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Add 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture to the batter and swirl through the batter.
Add the rest of the batter and add the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean.

Cinnamon swirl bread is the best warm from the oven! It also makes great french toast! See how easy it is to make yourself and there are no eggs in this version for those of you who have asked!
To add raisins: knead them in before putting your dough on for the first rise (plan for the rise to take a bit longer because of the weight of the raisins) or add them to the swirl filling if you choose.
To add nuts: finely chop and add with the filling.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
2 tablespoons melted butter, cooled
3 1/2 cups bread flour (all purpose will also work)
1/2 tablespoon fine sea salt
oil for greasing the dough
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons granulated (white sugar) or coconut sugar

Bake 450 for 25-27 minutes, tenting with foil if it gets too dark
