Whipping cream 60g
Wheat starch 30g
Milk powder 40g
Butter 50g
■Snowy wrap
Glutinous rice flour 50g
Rice flour 45g
Wheat starch 30g
Sugar 50g
Milk 180g
Corn oil 20g
Strawberry powder 10-15g
Mold size:50g mooncake mold
(The prepared mooncake need to be refrigerated for more than 2 hours before eating, and the mooncakes can be stored in the freezer.)

The best food to cook during snowy days - Yakut pancakes or Alaaji!
This dish is also used in our rituals - we always leave some pancakes for spirits.
Ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1,5 cup of water
2,5 cups of flour
1 egg
1 tbsp of sugar
1 tsp of salt
Mix milk, water, egg, salt and sugar. Little by little add wheat flour and stir well. Heat up vegetable oil in a pan and fry pancakes.
If you want to do it 100% Yakut way, leave first 3, 5, 7 or any other odd number of pancakes on a separate plate. Then after you finish frying, leave the pancakes on the ground near your house to please spirits.
Enjoy pancakes with heavy cream and any jam.

Have you tried this well-liked Taiwanese snack called Snowflake Crisp Milk Nougat (雪花酥 / 雪Q餅)? It is so popular that people started making them at home, especially during Chinese New Year and it quickly went viral all over the internet few years ago. In fact, it is the new trending Chinese New Year homemade treat! Nougat crackers are very popular in Taiwan.
Snowflake Crisp is like a hybrid version of the nougat cracker 牛轧糖 . They are sweet, salty, tangy and chewy. The saltiness comes from the lightly salted crackers. The addition of tangy dried fruits lends a little acidity and cuts down the sweetness of the marshmallow and the nuts provide an additional crunch to sweet treat.
Ingredients:
150g marshmallow
45g unsalted butter + pinch of salt (If using salted butter, omit salt)
55g milk powder + more for coating (I’m using full fat)
140g Ritz cracker
70g roasted almonds / cashews
40g dried cranberries – roughly chopped
Makes about 20 pieces
