3 c Flour 5 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 3 tb Sugar 1 Bottle of beer Preheat oven to 350oF, prepare pans. Measure dry ingredients into bowl & pour beer over, stirring to blend. Spoon into pans & brush tops with butter. Bake for 15-20 mins. Makes 9 lg muffins. Serve hot, a little grated cheddar cheese may be sprinkled on top before baking if desired. As this book is Canadian I've asked a Canadian friend how lg a bottle of beer is over there, she says they are sm about equivalent to a cn of beer here (NZ), about 375 mls I think but don't quote me on that. Join 92-year-old CWA member Muriel Halsted through a short but sweet tour of her classic scone recipe. The CWA decided to bring their scones into the virtual world after the cancellation of the Sydney Royal Easter Show last month.
The group often sells as many as 50,000 scones, tea and coffee products created by its members at the show each year, but has now opted to selling PDF recipes following a $5 donation for a plate of virtual scones.

Add 8 oz package Shredded Mexican Cheese and stir.
Gradually stir in 12 oz beer.
Pour into greased loaf pan, and cover with 1/4 cup melted butter.
Bake at 375 degrees F for one hour. Let sit in pan 15 minutes before removing.
