How To make Five Spice Chicken
1 1/4 pounds small red potatoes
quartered
1/2 pound ground beans
1 tomato :
chopped
1 Tablespoon plus 2 tsp. olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves -- (about 1
pound)
Cook potatoes in large pot boiling wter 15 minutes, until almost tender. Add beans; cook 5 minutes or until tender. Drain; tranfer to large bowl. Add tomato, 1 tablespoon oil, oregano, 3/4 teaspoon salt and pepper.
Heat broiler. Coat broiler rack with nonstick cooking spray. Mix five-spice pwder, 2 teaspoons oil and 1/2 teaspoon salt in small bowl. Rub mixture over chicken.
Place chicken on prepared rack. Broil 4 inches from heat 6 minutes, turning once. Serve immediately.
Good with bean salad.

1½ pound -- chicken thigh (remove skin & bone) (diced)
marinade:
2 Tbsp -- Light soy sauce, 1 tsp five spice powder
1 tsp ---- corn starch
1 Tbsp -- cooking oil
pre-mix sauce:
¼ cup ---- chicken broth
1 Tbsp ----- light soy sauce
1 tsp ------- sesame oil
½ tsp ---- sugar
1 tsp ------ five spice powder seasoning
½ tsp ---- corn starch
2 Tbsp ----- cooking oil (for stir frying)
2 Tbsp ----- garlic (minced)
2 stalks ---- green onion (chopped 2 inches in length)
optional: lettuce (chopped)

Crispiest Air-Fried Five Spice Chicken with EGG WHITES!

Crispy Air-Fried FIVE SPICE Chicken ????
Don’t be intimidated by the five spice! You should be able to find it at your local grocery store in the spice aisle. ???????? It is usually a mix of cinnamon, fennel, star anise, cloves, and the 5th changes with the brand. Mine has annatto, but some brands have Szechuan peppercorn.
I have done LOTS of frying in my lifetime! My SIL and I got accepted into the State Fair of Texas with fried chicken SKINS. Just the skin! Nowadays, I do a lot more air-frying than deep-frying! Hope you give it a try!
The egg white & cornstarch are what gives it that extra crisp. And letting it rest before raising the temp keeps the chicken from drying out. ????????
Keep in mind that timing will vary depending on the size of you chicken. Inside temp should be 165F.

Ingredients:
1 pc - Chicken (1kg)
1 tbsp - Salt
1 tbsp - Five spice powder
2 tbsp - Rice wine
1 stalk - Leeks
Oil for sauteing
2-3 pcs - Cinnamon sticks
3 pcs - Star anise
1 tsp - Whole black pepper
3 thumb - Ginger
3 cloves - Garlic
5 pcs - Shitake mushrooms
1/4 cup - Mushroom brine
3 cups - Water
4 tbsp - Oyster sauce
4 tbsp - Soy sauce
3 tbsp - Honey
1 cup - Water chestnuts
Slurry - (Cornstarch + water)
1 tbsp - Sesame oil
1 stalk - Onion leeks
