How To make Garden Burgers
1 x Egg White
1/4 c Fine dry bread Crumbs
1/4 c Finely shredded Carrot
1/4 c Finely chopped Onion
1/4 c Finely chopped Green Pepper
1/2 ts Salt
1/8 ts Pepper
2 tb Grated Parmesan Cheese
1 lb Ground Turkey or Lean Beef
1 x Med Tomato, sliced
In a large bowl combine egg white and bread crumbs.(if using beef, stir in 2 T water) Stir in carrot, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper. Add Parmesan cheese and ground meat; mix well. Shape meat mixture into four 3/4" thick patties.
Spray a cold grill rack with Pam. Then place rack on grill. Grill burgers on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 7 minutes. Turn and grill 8-11 minutes or till no pink remains. Place 1 tomato slice atop each burger and grill 1 minute more. *********************************************************** Per serving: 290 calories, 23 g protein, 8 g carbohydrates, 18 g fat, 79 mg cholesterol, 441 mg sodium, 351 mg potassium.

The trick is to bake canned black beans in the oven to dehydrate them before chopping them and incorporating them into a vegetarian patty flavored with onions, chiles, chipotle peppers, and cotija cheese. cashews add more texture. They're delicious, even if you aren't normally a veggie-burger person.
Homemade Veggie Burgers | Taste of Trini
Looking for a Veggie Burger that’s easy to make and extremely delicious? Here’s what you’re looking for! This reminds me of my childhood back in Trinidad and Tobago, when my mom prepared these weekly. The good thing about this burger is that you can control what goes in it, according to the flavors you like. Try it and let me know what you think.
Vegan Soybean Burger Ingredients:
• 6 oz dry Soybeans, soaked overnight (2 cups of soaked and ground soybeans)
• Salt + Black Pepper
• ½ cup of ground Crackers or Breadcrumbs (omit this to make it gluten-free)
• ¾ cup of Cornstarch + 2 tablespoons of water – OR use 2 Eggs
• ¼ cup of Sweet Peppers finely chopped
• 1 Onion, finely diced
• 10 cloves of Garlic, minced
• ¼ cup of chopped Cilantro
• ¼ cup of chopped Bandhanya/Shadon Beni/Culantro/Recao
• 2 Hot Peppers (optional)
• 4-6 Pimento/Seasoning Peppers
• 2 teaspoons of Smoked Paprika
• ¼ cup of oil for frying
12 oz of dry beans yielded 12 burger patties, 3 inches in diameter and ¾ inches thick.
Cook in a cast iron pan for 14 minutes (7 minutes each side) on medium-low heat.
Bake for 15 mins at 350 F.

Let's take a close look at the frozen veggie burgers and see which ones are the best! It's really about the type of veggies used, the cooking oil, and if they added filler and preservatives. I was happy to find some pretty good options made with healthy veggies and solid grains, but no one uses a super high quality oil, which I found very disappointing.
