Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole {feeds a crowd and enough for leftovers!}
SLOW COOKER GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
--------------Click on SHOW MORE to see the FULL RECIPE--------------
Everyone in my family loves green bean casserole. I have to make this double batch. Here is how I make it in the slow cooker and I'll show you my trick to brown the onions with out using your oven.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
31.5 oz. cream of mushroom soup (three – 10.5 oz cans)
1/2 cup milk
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp onion powder
145 oz. green beans (Ten – 14.5-oz cans; drained)
12 oz. French's French Fried Onions (Two – 6-oz canisters)
non-stick cooking spray
DIRECTIONS:
Spray the slow cooker with the non-stick cooking spray if desired.
Add the drained green beans to your slow cooker.
In a medium-size bowl, whisk the cream of mushrooms soup, milk, black pepper, and onion powder until smooth.
Pour the soup mixture over the beans. Add half (one canister) of the french friend onions. Stir gently.
Place the lid and cook on HIGH for 2½ hours.
Brown the remaining canister of French fried onions in a skillet on the stove top. Set the skillet to medium high heat, stir the onions around until brown (about 3 minutes).
Sprinkle the onions over and serve. (If you are traveling, you can brown your onions at home then add them to the slow cooker right before serving).

5 MINUTE THANKSGIVING GREEN BEANS RECIPE
5 Minute Thanksgiving Green Beans Recipe
I love the traditional green bean casserole as a Thanksgiving side dish. It’s just so creamy and delicious and those fried onions on top just make it so dang good.
But this recipe is nothing like that out-of-a-can and dump recipe. This recipe uses fresh green beans and ingredients in order to give a healthier take on the traditional favorite…so you can save room for pumpkin pie, of course!
Here’s the recipe:
//RECIPE: 5 Minute Lemon Pepper Green Beans
Ingredients
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped in half
3 tablespoons butter
2 pinches lemon pepper
salt to taste
Directions
Place green beans into a large skillet and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until beans start to soften, about 5 minutes. Drain water. Add butter to green beans; cook and stir until butter is melted, 2 to 3 minutes.
Season with lemon pepper and salt.
