1 c Flour 1/3 c Cocoa 3/4 c Sugar 2 ts Baking Powder 1/2 ts Salt 1/4 c Shortening 1 Egg 2/3 c Milk *Sauce* 3/4 c Sugar 3 tb Cocoa 2 tb Water 2 c HOT water Servings: 4 Preheat to 350F Sift dry ingrediants in a bowl. This Hot Fudge Pudding Cake is so ultimately satisfying it will send you into chocolate heaven!
Ooey-Gooey Hot Fudge Chocolate Pudding Cake for Bob's Birthday
Cake: 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cocoa powder 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 3/4 cup ;milk 1/4 cup butter, melted 1 tsp vanilla Mix all ingredients together and place in a greased 9x9 baking pan Pudding: 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 3 tbls cocoa powder 1 1/4 cups boiling water Mix dry ingredients and sprinkle over cake layer Pour boiling water over all. DO NOT MIX Cook in 350 oven for 35 minutes Cool for 15 and enjoy
All-Purpose Flour/Maida - 1 Cup Baking Powder - 1 Tsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder - 2 Tbsp Salt - 1/4 Tsp Sugar - 3/4 Cup Instant Coffee Powder - 1/2 Tsp Water - 1 Tbsp Vanilla Essence - 1 Tsp Melted Butter - 1/4 Cup Milk (Room Temp:) - 1/2 Cup Boiling Hot Water - 1 1/4 Cups
Method:
Grease an oven-safe pan with butter and keep aside. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C for 10 min.
Mix 1 cup sugar and 5 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder in a bowl and keep aside.
Take another bowl and mix All purpose flour, Baking powder, Salt, Unsweetened cocoa powder, and sugar without any lumps.
Mix Instant Coffee Powder and 1 Tbsp water in a small bowl and add to the flour mix. This is optional but it will enhance the chocolate flavour.
Add 1 Tsp Vanilla essence, 1/4 cup melted butter (salted/unsalted), 1/2 cup room temp: milk to the dry ingredients and mix well without any lumps. Transfer the batter to the greased pan and level the top with a spatula.
You can use any shape of an oven-safe pan for baking the cobbler.
Sprinkle the sugar and cocoa mix on top of the batter. DO NOT MIX WITH BATTER. Just sprinkle over the batter.
Pour 1 1/4 cups boiling hot water over the topping. DO NOT STIR
Bake for 35 - 40 minutes or until the top is set in a preheated oven.
The bottom of the cobbler will still be a little loose. Cool for 15 - 20 minutes before serving. Serve warm with Ice cream. Without Ice cream also cobbler tastes good.
You can store the cobbler in an air tight container in the refrigerator for 3 - 5 days OR in the freezer for up to 2 months. Thaw the cobbler and reheat before serving.
