4 md Eggs 1 3/4 c Flour 1 1/4 c Sugar 8 oz Butter; melted 1 tb Cold water 1/2 ts Vanilla extract Recipe by: Norwegian Seamen's Church; New Orleans, La. Beat eggs and sugar until light and lemon-colored. Add vanilla and carefully stir flour into egg mixture. Add butter and water and blend into egg mixture. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Heat the krumkake iron. Grease lightly for the first cookie only. Pour a small amount of batter, about a tablespoon, into the iron and bake until golden brown. Immediately form into cones around a wooden cone shape or drape over cups to form cookie bowls. Cool on rack. Makes about 35 to 40 cookies. Serve alone or with fruit and whipped cream or ice cream. These cookies can be vanilla or chocolate flavor (You can make Ice Cream cones as well) This is a thin crisp cookie rolled in a cone shape or like a cigar 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 cup milk 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or choice of extract 1/2 teaspoon butter extract Optional Making chocolate batter add 2 Tablespoons baking cocoa Heat your krumkake iron on a stove over medium heat or use a waffle cone maker or pizzelle iron. Cream together butter and sugar till pale in color Add eggs, and combine, pour in milk alternately with flour till smooth, Add vanilla, butter extract together. Place batter by tablespoon onto preheated iron, maker etc. Bake till done 2-3 minutes depending what your using to bake these cookies with. Remove from heat quickly roll cookie around a wooden spoon handle or a cone before they harden. Makes 30-40 cookies Filling: Whipped Cream, Sour Cream with tart jelly,sprinkle powder sugar over them, You can dip the ends in melted milk chocolate.too. Ingredients:
½ cup butter 4 eggs 1 cup sugar ½ tsp. ground cardamom ½ tsp. vanilla 1½ cups flour 2 tbsp. cornstarch ground coffee (optional)
Directions:
1. Melt butter and cool slightly. Preheat the Krumkake Iron. 2. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with a mixer with medium speed for 1 minute. Add sugar, continue besting for about 3 minutes or until sugar is almost dissolved. Stir in butter, cardamom and vanilla into the egg mixture. 3. In a small bowl, combine flour, cornstarch and optional coffee, of used. Add flour mixture to the egg mixture. Stir until smooth. 4. Drop a spoonful onto the preheated open Krumkake Iron and close lid. Cook approximately 10 seconds, flip the iron and cook the other side. Roll warm Krumkake onto a tapered forming tool. If you like, pipe the cookie cones full of sweetened whipped cream and serve immediately. (Makes about 2 dozen cookies)
LeRoy’s Tip: When placing batter onto the Krumkake Iron, place it slightly off center, towards the hinge.
