In this video, I will be showing you how to make General Tso Chicken at home. With this easy General Tso Chicken Recipe you can prepare this dish quickly. The best part is this recipe requires just few common ingredients available at home and it is very easy to make. I will show how to make the perfect sauce for Tso chicken. Making General Tso sauce at home is very easy and just takes few minutes. You can enjoy this chicken recipe on its own or it can be served with a bed of steamed rice and a side of steamed broccoli. You must give this dish a try; it will become everyone's favorite instantly!

General tso chicken is a halalifed version of @babishculinaryuniverse general tso recipe: which is based off @JKenjiLopezAlt classic recipe as well
Chicken Marinade
-2 egg whites
-1 tbsp soy sauce
-1 tbs sweet soy sauce
substitute for chinese wine: if it asks for 3 tbsp, then 1/2 will be apple cider vinegar and 1/2 will be water, so in this case, 1.5tbsp of apple cider vinegar and 1.5 tbsp water
-3 tbsp rice vinegar
-1/4 teaspoon baking soda
-3 tbsp corn stach
in a bowl take place egg whites,wisk until foamy, then add soy sauce, sweet soy saice, apple cider vineger/water mixtue, rice vinegar, baking soda, corn starch. mix well. remove about 1/4 cup and place to side as you will add this to breading mixture.
-place diced halal chicken in marinade and as you prepare the the breading and sauce.
BREADING
-1 cup flour
-1 cup corn starch
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1 teaspoon salt
-1/4 cup of the chicken marinde
-mix well
Sauce Mixture
-2 tbsp soy saice
-2 tbsp sweet soy sauce(i believe this is the dark soy sauce)
-substitute for chinese wine: 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar+2tbsp water
-1-3 tbsp rice vinegar(in the video i put 3, but i think one would be enough)
-1/4th cup halal chicken stock
-1/4 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon sesame oil
-1 tbsp corn starch
(mix above ingredients )
-green onions
-4 cloves of fresh garlic(ok for garlic paste~1 tbsp, but flavor will be different)
-2 inches of fresh ginger(ok for giner pase ~1 teaspoon, but flavor will be different)
-arbol chiles, but red chili flakes ok as well. i put 1 teaspoon, barely any spice, consider more for more spice
In a sauce pan, place 1 tbsp of vegetable oil, place chopped green onions(save some green portion for garnish) and saute on medium heat. once soft, add garlic and ginger, once aromatized, add sauce mixture
Frying
-take marinated chicken, remove excess, add to breading, pack well. fry at 375 degrees until golden brown and cooked.
-place fried chicken in sauce, place on rice,noodles,etc
-Say bismillah and enjoy!
Rice
-you can use your favorite rice recipe, but this is what we used...
-we use a mixture of golden rice brand(3/4 cup) and botan brand(1 cup), add 1 tbso oil, salt to tast and 3 cups of water.

Ingredients for:
1) General Tso’s Recipe :
- Chicken Thighs – 500 Grams
- Rice Vinegar – 1 Tablespoon
- Soy Sauce – 1 Tablespoon
- Salt – ½ Teaspoon
- Egg – 1 Medium
- Corn Starch – ¼ Cup
- Flour – ¼ Cup
- Garlic & Ginger Mince – 1 Tablespoon
- Dried Chili – 5 to 6 (add more for extra hot)
2) General Tso’s Sauce:
- Chicken Stock – ¼ Cup
- Rice Vinegar – 2 Tablespoon
- Soy Sauce – 2 Tablespoon
- Oyster Sauce– 1 Tablespoon
- Chili Sauce – 1 Tablespoon
- Brown Sugar - 2 Tablespoon
- Corn Starch – 1 Tablespoon
3) Optional:
- Spring Onions for Garnish
- Sesame Seeds for Garnish
General Tso’s Preparation:
- On a chopping board, cut the chicken thighs into small cubes.
- For the marination, add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, salt, egg, corn starch, flour, and mix well to coat all the chicken pieces.
- Set aside and let rest for 30 minutes
- Prepare the general Tso's sauce by mixing well the chicken stock, rice vinegar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and corn starch.
- Preheat a saucepan with cooking oil and fry the chicken at 190C until golden brown. Remove and let rest on a cooling rack.
- Preheat a pan with olive oil and add the garlic and ginger mince. Pour over the prepared general Tso's sauce.
- Let cook until reaching a simmer.
- Add the dried chillies and cook until thickened and reduced.
- Add the chicken and mix well to coat every piece.
- Serve with rice and finish with spring onion and sesame seeds.
