How To Make Cheese Scones | Cookery School | Waitrose
Cheese scones are perfect for brunch or afternoon tea - Chef tutor Andrew Roberts shows us how to make them at our Kings Cross Cookery School
This recipe is easily adaptable. If you want a strong cheese flavour you can use extra mature Cheddar like Andrew has done however most hard cheeses will work – parmesan or Comté would both offer a tangy, rich flavour.
Ingredients:
225g self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
1 tsp baking powder
50g salted butter, diced
100g extra mature Cheddar, finely grated
150ml milk, plus extra for brushing
We are the only supermarket to have our own Cookery Schools. You can join Andrew and our other talented chefs to perfect your skills in a wide range of different classes. See Which Pre-Grated Parmesan Cheese Contains a Wood Pulp Additive Filler
When customers buy parmesan cheese they expect it to be 100 percent real cheese. But an Inside Edition investigation has found that is not always the case. Some companies use a filler made from wood pulp in their cheese called cellulose to keep the cheese from caking. The FDA says there should be no more than 2 percent. A sample from Pizza Hut had 4.9 percent cellulose and one at Domino's came in at 5.4 percent. A packet of Colonna brand grated cheese had 21.6 percent cellulose. #InsideEdition

Cheesy Creamed Spinach | Cream Cheese, Mozzarella, Parmesan
Every time I visit a steakhouse chain like a Ruth's Chris or Morton's, I always wonder how they make their Creamed Spinach. This recipe mimics their version with just a little more cheesiness. If you love Creamed Spinach and you love cheese, this side dish is for you.
This Creamed Spinach includes Cream Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese and Parmesan Cheese. I'm sure this Cheesy Creamed Spinach is going to be loved by those you serve it to. It's great with Steaks (obviously), but also great with Chicken, alone, as a dip, with Pita Bread. You can also freeze this creamed spinach for later use and tastes great both warm and cold as a left over.
Give it a try!
