Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe (3 Ingredients) ????
My peanut butter fudge recipe is easy and delicious. With only three ingredients: sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and peanut butter powder, you can make a quick and simple no cook fudge that does not even require boiling anything on the stove or turning on the microwave.
Like so many others, this homemade peanut butter fudge recipe starts with a can of sweetened condensed milk. Sweetened condensed milk is a great ingredient for homemade fudge not only because it is delicious but also because it has a long shelf-life, so you can keep it in your home for whenever you get a craving.
However, the star of this recipe is peanut butter. I used no stir natural peanut butter, the kind of natural peanut butter that minimal to no oil separation. Although many people like to eat the kind of natural peanut butter that has to be stirred due to the oil that sits on top of the crushed peanuts, I would not recommend using that kind; instead, I recommend using either no stir natural peanut butter or regular peanut butter for this recipe. However, whether you use creamy or crunchy does not matter.
The third ingredient is powdered peanut butter. Although peanut butter powder seems to be more common in the fitness community than in the cooking community, powdered peanut butter such as PB2 powder is made of peanuts that have had about 85% of the fat removed. The peanuts are then crushed and mixed with a bit of sugar, salt, and other flavorings. Even though PB2 powder is probably the most popular brand in the United States, there are others. In addition, peanut butter flour, flour made in the same way by defatting and crushing the peanuts, would probably work in this recipe as well. If anyone uses the flour in this recipe, please let me know how it turns out.
Once the three ingredients are mixed together, pour the peanut butter fudge into a mold lined with plastic wrap, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 2-3 hours, preferably overnight.
When you try this peanut butter fudge, you will realize just how delicious it is. The peanut butter flavor is extremely strong since the recipe gets that flavor from two ingredients. Also, even though I used a whole can of sweetened condensed milk, the fudge is not overly sweet: even though some fudge recipes can be too sweet at times, this one was just right. The fudge was soft yet firm at the same time, the texture enhanced by the bits of peanuts in the crunchy peanut butter. Honestly, for something so simple that requires no cooking, the flavor is absolutely out of this world.
Although I liked the texture, some people may not. As you can see in the video, the fudge is definitely firm enough to slice and to hold its shape when cut, but it is not as firm as other fudge recipes: that may be a good or bad thing, depending on your personal preference. However, it does get firmer over time if you keep it in the refrigerator for a few days.
Although this plain version if fantastic, I think that using chocolate peanut butter powder would be a good idea, too. I also think that melting some semi-sweet chocolate and drizzling it in while mixing the fudge, or perhaps when putting it into the mold, would be, too. I think that a bit of vanilla or a pinch of salt would be good additions as well, but like I said, I thought that this fudge was fantastic with just three ingredients.
What is so ironic about this recipe is that it was born out of a kitchen fail. One day I was trying to invent a peanut butter frosting recipe, and when the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk mixture seemed a bit too loose, I added peanut butter powder. Eventually, I added too much for the frosting to be spreadable, and I became frustrated when I thought that perhaps I had just wasted ingredients and time trying to make something new. However, the idea then came to me that perhaps I could put the mixture into a mold, chill it in the refrigerator, and then see if it would turn out like fudge. I gave that a try, and the rest is history.
This is the best peanut butter fudge recipe because it is easy and delicious. Even though it was born out of an accident, this is absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a new Christmas fudge recipe, be sure to give this one a try.????????????????
