Picadillo: Organic Turkey Picadillo brought to you by Iliana Morris from Simply Ili! Made with all organic ingredients. This is an amazing Latin dish! It is made with 100% Natural, steroid & hormone free ground turkey, All other ingredients are 100% Organic...Don't forget the Sofrito!! :) I love to cook, and though I eat mostly vegetarian as a part of my cancer diet but I am still Puerto Rican and it's important to share my roots with you! Normally this dish would be made with ground beef but I try to stay away from red meat, it just doesn't work well with my body...there is research that shows red meat is linked to cancer causing foods however it is my belief that it's not red meat alone but the poor quality in most red meat products, like being corn fed instead of grass fed, injected with hormones and steroids. If you can get grass fed 100% Organic beef then that is great, I would still eat it in moderation because it tends to be harder on the digestion. The Ingredients:
1lb All natural ground turkey
-marinade the meat with sea salt, black pepper and garlic powder
2 tbsp natural grapeseed oil...use organic if you can.
¼ cup organic finely chopped onions
1-2 tbsp organic sofrito **Sofrito** All Organic if possible ( Half of an Onion -- 1.5 green peppers -- 1 red pepper (optional) -- Sea Salt and Black Pepper (to taste) -- Two Cloves Fresh Garlic -- Olive Oil ( add sparingly as you go, to avoid using too much, not too thick & not too watery) Blend in food processor, only one tablespoon was used in this soup recipe
2 organic chopped potatoes
1 can organic diced tomatoes-drained
1 can organic tomato sauce
Garlic powder-season to taste
Sea salt-season to taste
Black pepper season to taste
Handful organic cilantro
Ground Beef Recipe /Ground Turkey/ Picadillo
Another family favorite, my ground beef with potatoes for taco night.
You can substitute any ground meat of your choice (turkey, chicken, lamb or vegan substitutes). Serve the beef with tacos or rice. We usually serve it with my recipe for Rice with Corn. I have a video for this recipe on my channel.
Ingredients:
One pound of ground beef
1 Small red onion (chopped)
3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Lawry's Casero Total Seasoning 1 teaspoon (or more to your liking)
1 tablespoon Tomato Paste
1/8 teaspoon of Cumin
1 packet Sazon Goya with culantro and achiote (mostly for color)
2 potatoes, peeled and chopped in uniform pieces
In a pot place the ground beef to brown and add the Lawry's Casero total seasoning. When the meat browns, remove 90% of the fat and discard. Then add the chopped veggies (onion, garlic and cilantro), tomato paste. Lastly, add the cumin and Sazon Goya. Stir until veggies are incorporated. Add the chopped potatoes and cover. Simmer for 10-15 min, until potatoes are tender. You can pierce the potatoes with a fork to test.
Serve the ground beef and potatoes with taco shells (top with salad and shredded cheese and your favorite salsa). Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy this video and hope to make more soon!!

Ground Turkey Picadillo
Picadillo is a Latin American dish. Today’s recipe is my version of picadillo. It’s normally with ground pork or beef but I used ground turkey. The spices I mixed worked perfectly in this dish. I love using smoked paprika, it adds bright beautiful yellow-red color that’s very enticing to the eyes. The other veggies are very colorful too.
