How To make Vietnamese Coffee
Stephen Ceideburg 2 tb Sweetened Condensed Milk
6 oz Strong Black Coffee
In restaurants and cafe, dark-roast coffee is brewed in an individual drip pot that sits on top of a glass, slowly dripping into sweet milk. it takes a good 10 to 15 minutes for the water to finish dripping through, and the coffee is sipped at an equally leisurely pace. Both the coffee and the pots are available in Southeast Asian markets, but any type of coffee and any brew- method that produces a strong, rich-tasting cup will do. Place the milk in the bottom of an 8 ounce glass. Carefully pour in coffee, trying not to disturb the layer of milk. Stir milk up from bottom and sip coffee. There will probably be some milk left in the bottom of the glass when you are finished. Makes 1 serving. Variation: This coffee may also be served iced. Add ice cubes on top of the sweet milk and proceed as above. From the California Culinary Academy's "Southeast Asian Cooking", Jay Harlow, published by the Chevron Chemical Company, 1987. Vietnamese Coffee! ????????☕️????
Iced Vietnamese Coffee! ☕️????
.
.
When it comes to coffee and condensed milk, most recipes will end-up delicious. We have already shared the most famous ones which are Café Bombón and Spanish Latte version that is derived from the Café Bombón.
.
Considering the feedback that we got from all our friends, it is about time to share Vietnamese Coffee video and recipe!
.
.
Firstly, it is highly recommended to get a Vietnamese coffee brewer. It is very affordable and you can easily find it on Amazon.
.
Recipe:
30g of Sweetened Condensed Milk. You can adjust the amount depending on your preference.
.
Use 20g of dark roasted coffee beans or well developed coffee beans as they will taste more enjoyable on this method. The grind size should be coarser than your usual filter coffee settings.
.
Start by pouring around 50ml of water just to bloom the coffee for one minute. We found that if you wish to grind finer, it is better to let the coffee bloom for longer time.
.
Fill the brewer to the max and wait for it to finish brewing.
.
Overall, it is a very simple process and would make a perfect choice for simple travel brewer and for camping!
.
Tastewise:
Considering the ratio of coffee to condensed milk and the use of dark roasted coffee beans, it is a delicious coffee beverage. You will be able to enjoy the sweetness and the creamy aftertaste of the Sweetened Condensed Milk, while enjoying the taste of your coffee.
.
.
If you are familiar with Vietnamese coffee and would like to share your brewing preferences, feel free to write them in the comments, we are always happy to know about different approaches ????☕️
