2 qt Onions, sliced 1 1/2 c Butter 1 t Salt 1/2 ts Black pepper 1 qt Milk 1 pt Half and half 2 cn Stock, chicken Simmer onions in butter 45 minutes. Season to taste. Add milk, cream and chicken broth. Place toast in bottom of soup bowl. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Pour soup over toast.
