Homemade Texas BBQ Sauce Recipe - Best BBQ Sauce - Backyard Texas Barbecue
Sometimes we think about Barbecue being difficult, but it doesn't have to be! This Texas Homemade BBQ Sauce proves my point. Now you can wow your friends with a delicious BBQ Sauce made in your own backyard (well... in your kitchen.)
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of butter
1/2 red onion
1 clove of garlic (or about 1 teaspoon)
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of lemon juice
2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon of tomato paste
1 Tablespoon of yellow mustard
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of chili powder
Add salt and pepper as desired (I didn't add any)
Directions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan on medium high heat. Add your onions and cook for about 3 minutes.
Add your garlic and cook for 2 minutes stirring continuously.
Add the rest of your ingredients and mix it together. Let it simmer until it reaches desired texture.
To make the sauce smooth, run it through a blender. Or you can leave it chunky. Either way still tastes delicious!
I lived in Texas for 3 years and I have come to love the way they Barbecue. This Homemade sauce brings back so many memories of eating delicious smoked pork with a home BBQ sauce on the side.
