1/2 md Onion, diced 1 cn Refried beans (watch out -for lard) 1 tb Chili powder 1/2 ts Garlic powder &1/2 cup water 1 cn Tomato sauce 1 t Sugar Bring water to boil. Add onion and cook on med. boil till fairly transparent. Reduce heat to low. Add remaining ingredients. Stir till beans are smooth and heated, a minute or two. I ate it with a dollop of sour cream and some raw diced onion but it is good without any garnish at all. I hope you like it, Connie. INGREDIENTS REQUIRED FOR NADRU YAKHNI
1/2 kg nadru (lotus stem) 1 tbsp oil 1/4 tsp heeng 1/2 tsp cumin seeds stir fry the nadru pieces salt to taste 1 black cardamom 1 & 1/2 tsp saunf powder 1/2 tsp ginger powder 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 1 glass water cook for one whistle cook on low flame for 10 mins
2 small bowls curd add curd while nadru is cooking stir well a pinch of garam masala a pinch of cardamom powder coriander leaves
