Chocolate Covered Crickets | Cooking with Bugs
Chocolate Covered Crickets has to be one the simplest recipes out there Even though its simple, it does a great job incorporating all the flavors.
The Recipe I used
-16 oz Chocolate of Choice
- 6 Tbs Heavy Cream
- 2 tbs Ancho Phili Powder
- 1 Tbs Vegetable Shortening (Optional)
- Crickets
1. Heat up Double-Boiler medium heat. Add Chocolate and mix until smooth. Remove from heat.
2. Add crickets until fully covered. Remove with tool of choice,who am I to tell you how to remove them. I used a Skimmer Ladle.
3. Place on parchment paper and separate. Make sure they are not stuck together. Place in refrigerator for 30 min or until solidified.
