Today, we are making honey glazed roasted chicken wings. This a classic item you get from Cantonese style BBQ shops called Siu Laap. You have probably seen it many times in China Town as its really popular - the restaurant will have huge windows where they hang their roasted duck, chicken, crispy pork belly, char siu... Honey glazed wings is my all-time favorite and it is so easy to make.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE MARINADE
1 kg of chicken wings
2 tbsp of soy sauce (Amazon Link -
1 tbsp of hoisin sauce (Amazon Link -
1 tbsp of oyster sauce (Amazon Link -
1 tbsp of sriracha (Amazon Link -
1.5 tsp of salt
2 tbsp of honey
1 inch of ginger, crushed and diced
4-5 cloves of garlic, crushed and diced
3 scallions, diced
INGREDIENTS FOR THE HONEY GLAZE
3 tbsp of honey
1 tsp of water (optional)
INSTRUCTION
We will make the marinade first. In a bowl, add the following ingredients: 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce, 1 tbsp of oyster sauce, 1 tbsp of sriracha, 2 tbsp of honey, 1.5 tsp of salt, crushed ginger, scallions, and garlic. Mix and set it aside.
For the chicken wings, you just use paper towels to absorb the moisture; you do not want any excess liquid to dilute the seasoning.
Add all the wings into a zip-lock bag along with the marinade. Push out as much air as possible and seal the bag. Give them at least a 5 minutes massage to even out the marinade. That is all the preparation. So easy. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.
The next day, preheat the oven to 420 degrees F. Take the wings out and place them onto a baking rack. Let it bake for 25 minutes.
25 minutes later, take the chicken wings out. They are already looking good, but if you check underneath the color is not as good so I like to flip them all over and bake them for another 15-20 minutes. Every oven is different so please keep an eye on it.
Glaze the chicken with 3 tbsp of honey. Enjoy!

HONEY CHICKEN | HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN
INGREDIENTS
chicken - 300 gms
egg - 1
corn flour - 2 tbsp
chili powder - 2 tsp
pepper - 1½ tsp
red chili sauce - 1 tsp
soya sauce - 2 tsp
tomato sauce - 2 tsp
green chili - 1
chopped garlic - 1 tbsp
honey - 2 tsp
sugar - 2 tsp
celery
spring onion
white sesame - 1 tbsp
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
maida - ¼ cup
water
salt
oil
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1.Marinate 300 gms chicken with required salt,1 tsp pepper,2 tsp kashmiri chili powder , 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp soya sauce and 1 egg.Mix well.
2.Add 1 tbsp corn flour and ¼ cup maida and mix well and marinate for about 30 minutes.
3.Heat some oil in a kadai and fry the chicken until it becomes golden brown.
4.In the same kadai add 1 tbsp chopped garlic,1 green chili and saute for 2 minutes.If there is a lot of oil remove some.
5.Add 1 tsp red chili sauce,1 tsp soya sauce,2 tsp tomato sauce,½ tsp pepper,2 tsp honey,2 tsp sugar,little salt and mix well.
6.In the marinated bowl take 1 tbsp corn flour and mix well with ½ cup water.
7.Pour it into the sauces and let it boil.Then add the chicken and mix well and let it be there on low flame for about 3 minutes.
8.At last add 1 tbsp roasted white sesame and a few celery and spring onion.

Here’s a yummy recipe that every will enjoy, watch & learn how to make Honey Glazed Chicken.
HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN
Ingredients
400 grams boneless chicken, cut into 1 inch pieces
4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
Salt to taste
2 teaspoons red chilli flakes
1 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns
1½ tablespoons + 2 teaspoons cornflour
1½ cups chicken stock
2 tablespoons oil + for deep-frying
3 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 stalks spring onion greens
1 tablespoon toasted white sesame seeds
Method
1. Put chicken, half the garlic, salt, half the red chilli flakes, half the crushed black peppercorns, one and half tablespoons cornflour and one tablespoon chicken stock in a bowl and mix well.
2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry chicken till golden.
3. Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add remaining garlic and remaining red chilli flakes and sauté till the garlic turns golden brown. Add remaining chicken stock, honey, salt, remaining crushed black peppercorns and soy sauce and mix well.
4. Make slurry of remaining cornflour with two tablespoons water and add it to the pan to thicken the sauce.
5. Drain chicken and add to the sauce in the wok directly. Mix well till all the chicken pieces are well coated with the sauce.
6. Add spring onion greens reserving some for garnishing and mix.
7. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with reserved spring onion greens and sesame seeds and serve hot.

Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Flour Coating:
Maida - 1 Cup
Cornstarch - ¼ Cup
Salt - 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Garlic Powder (optional) - ½ tsp
Honey Glaze:
Tomato Ketchup - 5 tbsp
Soy Sauce - 2 tbsp
Honey - ¼ Cup
Sugar - ½ tsp
Black Pepper Powder - ¼ tsp
Vinegar - 1 tsp
Other Ingredients
Oil (for deep-frying) - As Needed
Spring Onion (for garnish) - 2 tbsp
Sesame Seeds (toasted, for garnish) - 2 tsp
Cooking Instructions:
1. Marinate the chicken wings in ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, black pepper powder and red chilli powder. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients for the coating. Add the chicken wings and coat completely.
3. Deep-fry on medium-high heat for 10 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
4. For the glaze, combine all the ingredients in a bowl.
5. Heat oil in a pan and add the glaze. Bring it to a simmer. Add the fried chicken and toss well.
Cooking Tips:
1. Spread the raw chicken wings on a tray before marinating. Leave it uncovered in the refrigerator for at least an hour for very crispy skin.
