How To make Burgers with Caramelized Onions
1/3 c Bulgur
2 ts Olive oil
4 c Onions -- sliced (4 medium)
2 ts Sugar
2 ts Vinegar, balsamic
1 pk Harvest Burger, original
-prepared according to -pkg directions 2 tb Tomato paste
1/4 c Parsley, fresh
chopped
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper, freshly ground
4 Hamburger buns :
split and
-toasted Lettuce for garnish
In a small bowl, combine bulgur with 1/2 cup warm water; let stand for 30 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the bulgur is tender. Prepare the Harvest Burger in a medium bowl. Set aside while it absorbs water. Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over low heat. Add onions and sugar; saute until the onions are very tender and golden, about 15 minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup water and vinegar. Season with salt and keep
warm. Prepare a grill or preheat the broiler. Combine the Harvest Burger and bulgar in the same bowl. Add tomato paste, parsley, salt and pepper; mix thoroughly but lightly. Shape into 8 patties. Grill or broil on a lightly oiled rack until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Place the patties on buns, top with the caramelized onions, and garnish with lettuce. 8 lbs. onion
8 Tablespoon Butter
1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
1. Cut tops and bottoms off onions.
2. Slice down center of onion.
3. Place root end facing you and slice onion into 1/4 inch slices.
4. Heat butter in stockpot over medium heat.
5. Add onion and salt.
6. After onions have given up their liquid, reduce heat to low to medium low and cook until achieving the color of a tootsie roll, scraping up the fond during the process.

- Combine everything and cook over very high heat. stirring frequently
- the browning starts after the water evaporates, when that starts, turn the heat to medium low
- stirring occasionally, cook for another 30-45 minutes until it's where you like it
- taste it and re-season with salt, and add some balsamic vinegar for an extra delicious condiment!

INGREDIENTS:
For Beef Patties:
2 lbs (907 g) ground beef
1 ½ to 2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp Roasted Garlic & Herb spice blend
For Burger Sauce:
¼ cup (60 ml) mayonnaise
2 to 3 tbsp (30-45 ml) ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 ½ tbsp pickle relish
¼ tsp EACH: garlic powder, smoked paprika
For Caramelized Onion:
2 to 3 tbsp (28-43g) butter
1 extra-large sweet onion, sliced
¾ cup (180 ml) chicken or beef broth
For Toppings:
12 to 16 slices smoked bacon
1 to 2 large heirloom tomatoes
1 head of leafy Romaine lettuce
