How To make Chinese Pepper Chicken
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 clove garlic
minced
1 1/2" ginger root slice :
chopped
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in 1/2"
strips 2 bell peppers :
sliced
3 celery stalks sliced
1/3 cup green onions :
chopped
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine
In medium bowl, combine 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger root and cornstarch. Toss chicken in sauce to coat and marinate 30 minutes. In a wok, heat remaining 2 tablespoons oil and cook peppers and celery over high heat, stirring frequently until softened. Add green onions and cook 2 minutes more. Remove vegetables from wok. Drain chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Add chicken to wok and stir fry until chicken is done, about 3 minutes. Mix remaining ingredients together in a small bowl. Add to chicken with vegetables; simmer 3 minutes.

Today I’m sharing my easy and delicious black pepper chicken recipe! This black pepper chicken recipe is inspired by Chinese flavours and is ready in a pinch. This is the perfect recipe to use chicken breasts for a quick weeknight dinner.
Try this easy black pepper chicken with a side of fried rice or noodles. It tastes great on it’s own too!

*RECIPE*
INGREDIENTS:
2 chicken breasts
2 medium onions
1 large bell pepper/capsicum
2 tbsp cornstarch/cornflour
1-2 tsp crushed black pepper
2 tbsp oil
—Sauce—
3 tbsp light/regular soy sauce
1 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tbsp rice/white vinegar
1/2 tbsp grated ginger
1/2 tbsp grated garlic
1/2 tbsp minced green chilli (optional)
*salt may not be needed. Taste and add at the end if required
PROCESS:
1. Cut onions and bell pepper/capsicum into cubes. Try to keep them evenly sized
2. Cut chicken into 1 inch thick cubes. Try to keep them evenly sized
3. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl
4. Coat chicken with 1 tbsp of the sauce and 2 tbsp cornstarch and set aside for 15 minutes
5. Heat up a wok or pan on medium flame. Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil and fry the chicken on both sides until cooked through
6. Fry in batches for a crisp outer coating. The chicken should be done in 2-3 minutes per side. Check a piece for doneness and set aside
7. To the same pan, stir fry onions on high heat for 30 seconds
8. Add the bell peppers and continue stir frying for 1 minute
9. Reduce flame to low and pour in the sauce. Let it simmer for 30 seconds
10. Add the fried chicken and toss well until warmed through
11. Switch off the flame and add 1-2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

SUBSTITUTES:
• No fresh ginger or garlic?
Use 1 tsp of the powdered version
• No dark soy sauce?
Replace with 1/2 tsp soy sauce + 1 tsp sugar
• No green bell peppers?
Any kind of bell pepper works. Bell pepper can be skipped too

TIPS:
• Fry chicken in batches if the pan can’t hold all the pices in a single layer. Otherwise the chicken will release water and steam
• Add the chicken once the oil is hot so it starts frying right away
• The veggies must stay crunchy so don’t overcook it
• Add pepper as per spice tolerance

corn starch 2-3 tbsp
sauce preparation:
water 3/4 cup
vinegar 1/2 tbsp
salt 1/4 tsp
Chinese salt 1/4 tsp
Black pepper 1/4 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
soy sauce 1 tsp
oyster sauce 1 tsp
oil 2 tbsp
garlic crushed 1/2 tbsp
onion 1 small
capsicum 1 small
Green chilli 1
mix 1 tbsp corn starch into 2-3 tbsp water & make slurry

COPYCAT Panda Express Black Pepper Chicken Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
Chicken Marinade:
1 pound boneless skinless small diced chicken thighs
1/2 Tbsp. chili vinegar*
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Mix and marinate for 30 minutes
In wok or pan on high heat add oil and chicken.
Spread and let cook for 15-20 seconds before stirring.
Cook and stir for 3-5 minutes or until done.
Remove from wok and set to the side.
*Chili vinegar: 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 seeded red chili pepper.
Add pepper to vinegar and bring to simmer. Simmer for 15 seconds and turn off heat.
Cool to room temp.
3/4 cup diced onion
2-3 stalks celery cut thinly and on a bias
1/2 Tbsp. chili vinegar*
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp coarse fresh ground black pepper
oil
In wok or pan on high heat add 2 tbsp. oil, onions and celery.
Cook and stir for one minute...no longer.
Add cooked chicken and give a couple stirs to incorporate.
Add chili vinegar, soy sauce and black pepper.
Cook and stir one minute.
Serve immediately.
Enjoy.

Stir Fry Chicken With Black Pepper Sauce | Chinese Black Pepper Chicken Stir Fry | Black Pepper Sauce Chicken | Black Pepper Chicken Recipe | Chinese Black Pepper Sauce | Chicken Recipe | Chinese Black Pepper chicken
Ingredients for Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce:
(Tsp- Teaspoon; Tbsp- Tablespoon )
Chicken thigh boneless- 300 gms (cut into bite sized pieces)
For the Marination:
- Crushed pepper- 1/2 tsp
- Salt- 1/2 tsp
- Grated Garlic- 1 tsp
- Egg White- 1
- Corn Flour- 3 tbsp
Tempering:
- Garlic fine chopped- 2 tsp
- Green chillies sliced - 2-3
Vegetables:
- Onion Petals- 1 medium (75 gms)
- Green Pepper-50 gms (1 small)
- Red Pepper-50 gms (1 small)
- Yellow Pepper-50 gms (1 small)
- Spring onion greens- 2-3 (Cut into 1” long pieces)
Sauces:
- White Vinegar- 1 tsp
- Light Soy Sauce- 1.5 tsp
- Oyster Sauce- 1.5 tbsp
Other Ingredients:
- Corn Slurry: 1 tsp corn four mixed in 3 tbsp water
- Salt- seasoning in the water
- Crushed pepper (while cooking)- 1/4-1/2 tsp
- Crushed pepper (as garnish)-1/2 tsp
- Oil- 1.5 tbsp
Preparation:
- Cut the boneless chicken thighs into flattish bite sized pieces.
- Add all the items for the marinade, give a mix and set aside for around 15 mins.
Process:
1. Heat oil in a kadhai/pan and drop the coated chicken pieces side by side to not crowd the pan. Deep fry the pieces on medium heat for around 4-5 mins. Remove and set aside on a plate.
2. Now heat 1.5 tbsp oil and add the fine chopped garlic & the sliced green chillies. Stir on medium heat for 30 secs and then add the peppers and onion petals.
3. Stir fry on high heat for around 1-2 mins and then add 1/2 cup water.
4. Also add the sauces, salt for seasoning and 1/2 tsp crushed pepper in water & cook for around 1 min.
5. Add the corn slurry and cook for around 30 secs
6. Now add the chicken pieces and stir and cook for around 1 mins.
7. End with spring onion greens and 1/2 tsp crushed pepper.
8. Mix, stir fry on high heat for 15-30 secs and serve hot.

Easy Black Pepper Chicken Stirfry
Today, we’re making Black Pepper Chicken stirfry, a quick and easy dish best served with rice and perfect for a weekday dinner.
I think the most important ingredient is tomato ketchup - not very Asian but it's the secret sweet tang that goes amazingly well with the black pepper.

Chicken Marinade
- 300 grams Chicken cubed
- Marinade with:
- 1 tsp Light Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp White Pepper
- 1 tsp Cornflour or corn starch
- Black Pepper Sauce
- 3 tbsps of Tomato Ketchup
- 2 tbsp of Oyster Sauce
- 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
- 2 tsps of Sugar
- 2 tsps of Black Pepper (adjust to pepper taste levels)
- 2 tbsps of water
- 1 inch Ginger, sliced
- 1 Red Onion
- 2 cloves chopped Garlic
- Veggies
- Green and yellow bell peppers, and red chilli
