How To make Hillary Clinton's Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cooki

From: gaye levy 1 1/2 c Flour 1 ts Salt 1 ts Baking soda 1 c Shortening 1 c Light brown sugar; firmly -packed 1/2 c Sugar 1 ts Vanilla 2 Eggs 2 c Old fashioned rolled oats 1 pk Semisweet choclate chips -12 oz 1. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Set aside. 2. With an electric mixer beat together the shortening, sugars and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in flour mixture and oats. Stir in chocolate chips. 3. Drop batter by well-rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake in a preheated 350-degrwe oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden. 4. Let cool on sheets for 2 minutes before transfering to a wire rack to cool completely. Makes 7 1/2 dozen. Notes from Gaye: I must like a larger cookie because this only made 4 1/2 dozen from me. They took 14 minutes to bake. -----

Ingredients: 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated white sugar 1 whole egg 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup chocolate chip (I used chocolate buttons) 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Hillary Clinton's Chocolate Chip Cookies
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 cup shortening (I use coconut oil instead) 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 cups rolled oats 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheets or line with parchment paper.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda in small bowl and set aside.
Beat together shortening, sugars and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in rolled oats and chocolate chips.
Drop batter by rounded teaspoons onto baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden. Cool cookies on sheets for 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
