Making Mayo's Recipes: Pita Pizza
Are you searching for healthy recipes? Seeking something new for the home menu? Mayo Clinic is launching a series of easy, healthy recipes created by the executive wellness chef and registered dietitians at the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program.
Each Thursday one of the 100 tasty video recipes will be featured on the Mayo Clinic News Network, just in time for you to try at the weekend. You can also have the recipes delivered via the Mayo Clinic App.
It only takes 30 minutes to make today's whole-wheat pita pizza, topped with mushrooms, pineapple, bell peppers, feta cheese and bacon bits. You can double the batch and place uncooked prepared pizzas in the freezer.

This recipe for Taco Pita Pizza is super easy, delicious and customizable. It’s a kid-friendly dinner or create a cozy meal for two.
Top soft pita bread with spicy taco sauce, seasoned tender beef, creamy cheese, and crisp veggies for a yummy twist on a classic meal!

0:14 - Dinner for Two menu.
0:27 - Add ground beef to a pan.
0:29 - Season the ground beef.
0:35 - Brown the meat on medium-high.
0:40 - Break up the meat.
0:45 - Add in chopped onion.
0:50 - Cook the meat until done and set aside.
0:54 - Brush the pitas with extra-virgin olive oil.
1:03 - Top the pitas with taco sauce.
1:13 - Add on taco meat.
1:20 - Spread out the toppings.
1:22 - Add on shredded cheese.
1:30 - Add finely diced bell pepper.
1:34 - Sprinkle on diced onions.
1:49 - Finish it off with black olives.
1:51 - Bake for 10 minutes.
