In 1975, my parents opened the first Thai/Asian market in Nashville, TN. It closed 44 years later and shortly after, both passed away leaving big shoes for my sister and me to fill. Luckily, I inherited my mother’s passion for food and her legacy and recipes live on. Everyday when I cook, she is with me.
This is her Pepper Steak...a hit through the ages that fed generations. Not difficult to make at all and comforting like a cool night’s cozy stew of love. @theehandydan ate the entire wok in five minutes, that’s how good it is! ????

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak with Onions ???????? {Better than takeout!}
SLOW COOKER PEPPER STEAK WITH ONIONS

This is my tried and true recipe for pepper steak! I make a concentrated sauce that goes into the slow cooker with beef, bell peppers and onion. It thickens into a velvety smooth gravy, perfect over rice.

RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs. beef strips Look for beef cut into strips already or buy top sirloin and cut into 1/2 inch strips (round steak works well too).
1 green bell pepper sliced thick
1 red bell pepper sliced thick
1 white onion sliced
For the sauce:
1/2 cup water
2 beef bouillon cubes
3 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
4-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a small microwavable bowl add the water and the beef bouillon cubes. Place in the microwave for 30 seconds, mix until dissolved. I use the back of a spoon or the tip of a whisk to break up the bouillon cubes. (If you don't have a microwave, boil your water on the stove-top).
Add the soy sauce, Worchestershire sauce, ginger, garlic powder, pepper, brown sugar and cornstarch to the bowl with the water and bouillon. Whisk until smooth. (Add the red pepper flakes if you desire). Pour this mixture into the slow cooker.
Add the beef, bell peppers and onions onto the sauce in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours.

INGREDIENTS
1 lb (454 g) rib eye steak
2 tsp (10 g) baking soda
1 Tbsp (15 ml) cold water
1 Tbsp (15 ml) cooking wine
1 small to medium onion
2 small bell peppers
2 scallion whites
3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp sesame oil
cooking oil for wok
SAUCE INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup (177 ml) beef broth
1 Tbsp (15 g) oyster sauce
2 Tbsp (30 ml) dark soy sauce
2 tsp (8 g) sugar
1 tsp (2.5 g) cracked black pepper
2 Tbsp (15 g) corn starch

♡INGREDIENTS♡
•1 pound beef chuck steak
•pinch of meat tenderizer seasoning
•pinch of black pepper
•pinch of garlic powder
•3 tbsp oil (for stir frying steak & veggies)
•1 red bell pepper, chopped or julienned
•1 green bell pepper, chopped or julienned
•1 yellow bell pepper, chopped or julienned
•1-inch ginger root, chopped (as finely as u prefer)
•3 cloves garlic, chopped (as finely as u prefer)
•2 stalks scallion, chopped
•1 medium onion, chopped
♡FOR SAUCE♡
•1/3 cup soy sauce
•1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
•1 tbsp oyster sauce
•1 cup beef broth
•2 tbsp light brown sugar
•2 tbsp ketchup
•1 1/2 tbsp flour (or cornstarch)
