Champagne Cocktail Recipes | MIMOSA MADNESS
Today we're putting together mother's day cocktail recipes, and we're keeping it SUPER easy with 5 great ideas for MIMOSAS!
Mimosas are simple and lend themselves to being creative with flavor combinations. Two traits I look for in any entertaining endeavor. Some tips to keep in mind:
- When choosing champagne (or sparkling wine) for a mimosa, keep the sweetness factor in mind. If you like super sweet drinks, go for the Prosecco. If you want to dial down on the sweetness (and sugar content) a touch, go for Cava. Personally, I like a brut Cava for my mimosa bar, then people can dial in their own sweetness with the amount of juices that they add.
- ICE ICE BABY- you heard me right, ICE. Keep your liquids on ice if you're going to make a mimosa bar. No one needs warm champagne.
-Experiment with different juices and liqueurs for flavor!

Mimosa - Champagne Cocktail for brunch!
Mimosas are the champagne cocktail you make for brunch with friends and celebratory occasions like Mother's Day and Christmas! The simplest of all cocktails in the world, made with 2 parts sparkling wine or champagne, and 1 part orange juice.
As with most thing, the better the champagne, the better the Mimosa. But if you're on a budget, this is by far the easiest and best way to dress up an inexpensive champagne and turn it into a cocktail delight!
The Best Champagne Cocktail - festive and fun
The best way to say Happy New Year is with champagne, and why not turn that into a cocktail! This easy-to-build drink dates back to the mid 1800's and is a simple blend of champagne, bitters, and sugar. This year, however, I believe we've all earned a little something extra in our cocktail, so I'm adding a bit of cognac. It's completely optional of course, but I think the addition makes this version the best. I hope you enjoy this take on the classic. Here's to a fresh start.

Instructions

Slowly pour the sparkling wine into a large pitcher. Top with desired amount of orange juice. Do not stir.

Individual Mimosa
Fill champagne flute ⅓ way with orange juice.
Top off with champagne and garnish with a strawberry, orange slice or maraschino cherry. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
Can you make mimosas ahead of time?
I don’t recommend making them in advance because the champagne will go flat. This is such an easy drink you can make a batch in less than five minutes, so there’s no need to make it ahead.
What champagne is best for a mimosa?
I like dry unsweetened champagne. The orange juice has a lot of sugar so a dry sparkling wine works best. You can also use prosecco, which is a type of Italian sparkling wine.
What are the best juices for mimosa drinks?
You can use lots of different fruit juices to make this drink. Orange juice is traditional, but try making them with pineapple, watermelon, strawberry, or mango juice. You can also do a mix of fruit juices.
