Hey My Babies!! I’m back with another cooking video and today I will he making Red Beans with my Crockpot! Yes a Crockpot ???? I'm going to put the recipe below as well. Let me know in the comments what type of recipes y'all would like to see Next!!
CrockPot Red Beans:
Ingredients:
1 pound red or kidney beans
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
1 sweet/Vidalia onion (chopped)
3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 pound smoked sausage
2 bay leaves
1 TB of black pepper
1 TB of Cajun seasoning (depending on your spice liking)
????Optional- Other meats you can add- Turkey Wings, Pickled rib tips, ham-hock, or pig feet.
????You can also add a stick of butter to make them more creamy
????You can also get a can of Kidney beans and mash them up in a food blender to add to your pot to make your gravy thicker. If not use your spoon and mash some of the beans in your pot.
•Step 1: The night before you want to cook your red beans, clean your beans with water and then put them in a big pot of water and let them soak overnight. Also, go ahead and chop your bell pepper, onion, garlic, and sausage.
•Step 2: The morning you are cooking your beans, transfer 6-7 cups of water from the pot you had the beans soaking in to the crockpot. Drain the excess water from the pot & then add the beans to the crockpot.
•Step 3: After adding your water & beans, dump all your remaining ingredients in the crockpot. Gently stir everything together and cook on LOW for 8 hours. After 8 hours, stir your beans real good and serve over white rice. ENJOY!!

Serves: 4 Prep Time: 10 Mins Cook Time: 20 Mins
- 1 Lb Smoked Sausage, Cut into rounds.
- 2 to 3 Cans of RED Beans, 15-15.5oz (1 Drained, 1 Not Drained)
- 2.5 Cups Chicken Broth
- 1/2 Bell Pepper, Chopped ( I used 1/4 Red + 1/4 Green)
- 1/2 Cup Onion, Chopped
- 1/4 Cup Chopped Celery
- 1 Tsp Minced Garlic
- 1 to 2 Bay Leaves
- 1/4 Tsp Dried Thyme or 2 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
- Pinch of Dried Oregano (Less than 1/4)
- 1 Tsp Better Than Bouillion Chicken Base OR Cajun Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Tbsp Hot Sauce (optional)

Note ***** You can add 2 TBSP of your favorite Cajun Seasoning to tis recipe for the New Orleans style taste.
Instructions:
1) Line out all of your ingredients in bowls and chop up all of your veggies and sausages.
2) Add all of your ingredients to a 6 quart Crockpot/Slow Cooker, set on High for 6 Hours.
3) Cook Rice according to your package directions.
4) Serve Red Beans over the bed of rice of your choice. Top with Green Onions and or Fresh Parsley for garnish. Enjoy!

2 stalks of celery
1 onion
1 lb andouille sausage
1 large smoked turkey leg or hamhock
1 tbsp cooking oil
dry oregano
1 tsp fresh diced thyme
smoked paprika
1 tsp better than bouillon chicken base
salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, cayenne, cajun seasoning
3-4 cups chicken broth
green onion (garnish)
Directions:
Soak beans overnight in cold water (fridge).
In a medium sized pot add 2 cups water, cook rice according to package instructions; set aside.
Heat vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add sausage, and cook, stirring frequently, until sausage is lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes. Add onion, bell pepper and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in tomato garlic and oregano, thyme, chicken base, smoked paprika, cajun seasoning.
Stir in red beans, chicken stock, andbay leaf. Season to taste. Add whole smoked turkey leg. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Uncover; continue to simmer until reduced, an additional 15-20 minutes.
Using a wooden spoon or potato masher, mash beans until slightly thickened, if desired; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve immediately, topped with rice and garnished with green onion, if desired.
