Carrot Sourdough Bread
Delicious vitamin A loaded Carrot Sourdough bread made with fresh carrot juice,flour, active starter and salt. I didn't add any sweetner if you want you can add maple syrup, honey or sweetner of your choice. For printable recipe check here.

Leaven
20 g Starter 100% hydration 50: 50 All-purpose flour and Whole Wheat flour
80 g Bread flour
15g Whole wheat Flour
5 g Rye flour
100 g Water
Dough
320 g Bread flour
60 g Whole wheat flour
20 g Rye flour
310 g Carrot Juice
9 g Salt
100g Leaven

My first sourdough recipe was a hit with the crew! ???????? ????????
For this recipe you’ll need:
- carrots
- apples
- dates
- nuts and or seeds
- sourdough starter
- and a few additional ingredients.
**This one uses eggs because I do not know how to bake without eggs YET. But I’ll work on a plant based version and keep you posted.

Applesauce Sourdough Cake | Long Fermented Vegan Cake in 2019
Applesauce Sourdough Cake:
(Dairy-Free, Egg-Free, Refined Sugar-Free)
The day before baking:
1c sourdough starter + 1c applesauce* + 2c flour + 2 TBSP water; mix ingredients well into a thick batter. Allow to ferment overnight for 12-24 hours in refrigerator (at least 6 hours at room temperature in a warm, dry place around 24 c/ 77 f)
* I use Unsweetened Homemade Applesauce
Baking day:
Ingredients:
• 1/2c coconut oil, 1/2c Maple Syrup
• 2 flaxseed eggs (2 tbsp ground flaxseed +6 tbsp water)
• 1 tsp vanilla, ½ tsp salt, 1 tbsp all spice **
• 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
• Add all ingredients to fermented sourdough batter and mix well.
• If the dough is too thick, add milk or water as needed (I use Almond Milk around ¼ Cup)
• At this point you can add 1c Dried fruit or Nuts you like.
• Have a greased 9x13” pan ready. Also have your oven preheating to 350.
• Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Spread gently till evenly distributed over the pan. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
• I like it plain; my husband likes to drizzle with maple syrup. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving Leftovers can be placed in the freezer, wrapped in wax paper and aluminum foil and eaten later.
** all spice or any kind you like (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger)
