APPLE STREUSEL DESSERT PIZZA!! QUICK AND EASY DESSERT!!
Let's use some of that pecan cinnamon streusel and make a delicious, apple streusel dessert pizza! As mentioned in the video, we signed up to share a dinner with friends who recently added a fourth child to their family. I always like to think about taking something out of the ordinary that everyone will enjoy. Yes, I could have ordered them pizza, but making it is super simple and I was able to customize to their tastes. In addition I always like to take a dessert and since I made my big batch pizza dough recipe I had plenty to make a dessert pizza. This one is simple and delicious and I know you are going to love it!

Simple Icing Glaze Video:
I used about a 1 pound ball of my big batch pizza dough and rolled it out with a thicker edge to form an approximately 16 inch pizza. I rolled it out on top of a parchment sheet so that it could be easily slid onto my pizza stone that lines the bottom rack of my oven. This will ensure that the pizza bakes evenly and gets a crisp crust.
I did not over think this one. I made the streusel and opened a can of my favorite apple pie filling that I keep in the pantry for quick desserts and occasions like this. I spread the entire contents of the can over the pizza crust, arranging the slices of apples evenly. Then I topped the apples with 1 cup of our cinnamon pecan streusel mixture. This went into a 400 degree oven, directly on the hot stone and baked for 18 to 20 minutes.
When the pizza was done, the topping was lightly browned and the crust was crisp, I removed it from the oven and allowed it to cool slightly before adding a simple icing glaze that I made using powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla extract. I drizzled this on top of the warm pizza. You can wait for the pizza to cool even further before adding the glaze but when it is warm it is really delicious and the glaze seeps into the pie.
I was inspired to do this from a few of the pizza buffets I have been to in years past. They always seem to have a fruit pizza of some sort in their offering. Some use raspberry or strawberry and of course apple and it is a fun way to wrap up a pizza meal with a sweet ending.
I was able to purchase a few pizza boxes from my local shop for a dollar and was able to deliver all the pizzas quick and easy without having to leave pans or dishes with the family. A little preparation ahead of time will make all these things go super smooth and the receiving family won't have to worry about returning things in the hustle and bustle and life transition after welcoming a new member to their family.
I hope you give this apple streusel dessert pizza a try. Don't limit yourself to the fillings! Make them with cherry, blueberry, peach or whatever you love! I hope you love them!
Happy eating!
