How To make Chicken& Gravy
1 Frying chicken
1 jalapeno chile pepper
chopped
1/2 onion :
chopped
1 clove garlic
salt -- to taste 3 tablespoons cooking oil
3 tablespoons flour
1 can chicken broth
Wash and cut up chicken. Drop chicken in hot oil in Dutch Oven. Add chopped i ngredients and cover. Turn heat low and cook until tender (it makes its own ju ice). When chicken is tender and a little brown, push to side of pot and add f lour. Stir; add chicken broth and enough water to make gravy to desired thickn ess. Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes. This is good with hot biscuits.

INGREDIENTS _______________________
2 CHICKEN LEGS (skin on)
3 CHICKEN THIGHS (skin off)
1 C. ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tsp GARLIC POWDER
1 tsp ONION POWDER
1 tsp PAPRIKA
1/2 tsp CAYENNE PEPPER (optional )
3/4 C. VEGETABLE OIL
SALT to your liking
PEPPER to your liking
GRAVY___________________
3 Tbsp oil (from frying chicken, discard the rest)
1/3 medium onion (Jullienned)
1 minced garlic clove
3 Tbsp flour mixture (used for breading chicken )
2 1/2 Chicken broth (i used 2 1/2 C. waters x2 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon )
1 C. Milk
1 bay Leaf
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp rubbed sage
1/4 tsp crushed Rosemary
Salt to your liking
Pepper to your liking
●Make sure your chicken is well done before serving.

The Best Smothered Fried Buttermilk Chicken & Gravy Recipe
In this video recipe I show you from start to finish how to make the best smothered fried buttermilk chicken and gravy! A budget meal that is easy and comforting. Coated buttermilk chicken fried and then smothered in a rich seasoned onion gravy. Oh My! Enjoy.
Old Fashion Smothered Fried Buttermilk Chicken & Gravy
INGREDIENTS:
2-3 pounds chicken thighs
1 large sliced onion - about 2 cups
1 clove minced garlic
3-4 cups chicken broth
salt and pepper
1/4 cup oil
MARINADE:
4 cups buttermilk
1 tbsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. adobo
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. onion powder
2-3 tbsp. sriracha sauce
COATING:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. celery seed
Marinade chicken in seasoned buttermilk for at
least 4 hrs.
Dredge chicken into seasoned flour and shake off
excess.
In a large skillet on medium add oil to coat bottom
of pan. Add chicken and brown on both sides for 2-3
minutes and remove from pan.
Add sliced onions to pan with drippings and bits.
Stir for 2-3 minutes until all bits are loose from the
pan.
Add minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds and then
add 2 tbsp of leftover seasoned flour. Stir and cook
for 1 minute until flour absorbed.
Slowly add in chicken broth, stir and bring to simmer.
Add chicken back into the pan and flip/baste with gravy
every 10 minutes.
Cook for 30-40 minutes until done.
Remove from heat and let rest for 10 minutes before
serving.
Can serve with egg noodles, mashed potatoes, rice,
pasta, biscuits or waffles.

Today I am making a delicious tender and juicy smothered chicken that is a for sure to be a hit. It is a southern comfort food classic that is a perfect one pan meal idea.

INGREDIENTS
2 to 2 1/2 lbs (907 g to 1.13 kg) bone in chicken thighs
1 tsp season all seasoning salt (or regular salt)
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
1/3 cup all purpose flour (45 g)
2 to 3 Tbsp cooking oil (30 to 45 mL)
*optional 8 oz fresh baby bella mushrooms (226 g)
1/2 of a medium onion (70 g)
1/2 of a bell pepper (50 g)
3 cloves of garlic (15 g)
1 stick of celery (50 g)
1 Tbsp butter (14 g)
2 Tbsp all purpose flour (20 g)
16 to 18 oz chicken broth (473 mL to 532 mL)
*If using a no to low sodium chicken broth adjust seasonings and spices
- Pat dry thawed chicken with paper towels
- Season chicken with season all and lemon pepper
- Then dredge with flour both sides of chicken
- In a preheated skillet with oil brown chicken for six minutes on each side using a medium to medium high heat
- Then remove chicken and any rendered fat from pan
- Now add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes and then remove from skillet
- Now add 2 Tbsp of rendered fat back in to pan and sauté chopped onion, celery, bell pepper and garlic until softened
- Next add butter then melt completely
- Add flour, cook for one minute or until a golden crust forms at the bottom of skillet
- Now add a half cup of chicken broth at a time and stir until smooth
- Add cooked mushrooms and browned chicken back in to skillet
- Bring to a simmer then cover with a lid
- Cook for thirty five minutes or until internal temperature of chicken reaches 160ºF to 165ºF
- Once cooked serve on top of white rice and spoon on extra pan gravy
- Serves at least 4 single servings
