How To make Chicken and Dumplings.
WHITE SAUCE 1 c. onions
1/4 c. chicken broth
1/4 c. flour
salt Pepper 2 c. milk
THEN ADD 6 c. cooked chicken
diced
2 c. frozen peas
c. chopped carrots 2 c. frozen broccoli
c. cubed cheese :
optional DUMPLINGS 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 T. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
Saute onions in chicken broth until tender, add flour, salt and pepper. Cook until bubbly. Add two cups of milk. To white sauce, add chicken, veg and cheese. Mix ingredients together and pour into 2 casserole pans. Make dumplings: Stir together dry ingredients, cut in flour, add milk. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto chicken mixture. Freeze. It freezes nicely To Cook: Thaw completely. Cook at 350 for about an hour or until hot and biscuits are done.

This is my moms absolute favorite dish
its complete made from scratch
Old school chicken and dumplings!!
Recipe :
For dumpling base
2 cups diced onions
2 cups diced celery
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 whole chicken(cut up)
1 quart water
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup flour
for dumplings
3 cups flour
4 oz butter or shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 cup butter milk
combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl
cut in butter or shortening
add butter milk and mix until combined
pour batter onto flour surface and flatten into 2 in dough
with pizza cutter or knife
cut into 12-20 (4in) squares and set aside
in large stock pot or boiler add chicken,onions,celery,salt,pepper,
bring to a boil and then simmer until chicken is done
remove chicken from liquid and cool
after chicken is cool ,remove meat from bone
add milk to pot and bring to simmer and add dumplings slowly and carefully and cook until dumpling are done and firm
combine melted butter and flour mixture to liq and cook until thickened
then add chicken back to pot and enjoy

Rotisserie Chicken Shredded
1 can Cream of Chicken
1 can Creamof Celery
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
Chicken broth 32oz
1 can Grands Southern Style Biscuits
1 tsp poutry season
1 tsp black pepper
1/2 stick unsalted of butter
Cook it on high stirring for about 3 mins and then reduce heat to low and cover for about 15 to 20 mins

HOMEMADE CHICKEN and DUMPLINGS - Chicken and Dumplings Recipe From Scratch!!
Today I'm going to show you how I made the BEST Homemade CHICKEN and DUMPLINGS, all from scratch. Homemade chicken and dumplings aren't hard to make. You and your family will love this dish and I believe this recipe will be your favorite. You're going to absolutely fall in love with these chicken and dumplings! Grab your ingredients and cook along with me.

Ingredients you'll need:
CHICKEN & BROTH
• 1 - Whole Chicken (I used a Purdue Young Chicken 4.5 pounds)
• Water (Add enough to cover chicken)
• 1 - Large Onion (Cut into large chunks)
• 1/4 - Cup Celery Leaves - Rinsed
• 1-2 Celery Stalks (Cut into large chunks) - Rinsed
• Salt (Add as much or as little as you desire)
• Black Pepper (Add as much or as little as you desire)
DUMPLINGS
• 2 - Cups All-Purpose Flour
• 3 - Tablespoons Shortening
• 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
• 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
• 3/4 - Cup Milk
Instructions:
• Add cleaned chicken, water, onion, celery, celery leaves, salt and pepper to dutch oven (I used a 7 quart)
• Cook on medium/medium low until chicken is tender
• Remove chicken, onion, celery and leaves from dutch oven
• Cool chicken, then skin, de-bone and cut into pieces (Set aside)
DUMPLINGS
• Combine dry ingredients
• Cut in shortening until you have coarse crumbs
• Add milk until flour mixture is moistened (Work just until well blended)
• Turn dough out onto floured surface (Knead lightly)
• Using rolling pin, roll until 1/4 - 1/2 inch thickness (Make sure surface is well floured)
• Cut into desired pieces
• Bring broth to a boil
• Drop dumplings into boiling broth
• Cook dumplings for about 10-15 minutes (Stir gently)
• Stir in chicken then heat for about 10-15 more minutes (Broth will thicken during cooking)
