2 T Vegetable oil 1/3 c Chopped onion 1/3 c Chopped green pepper 1 lb Ground beef 1 Garlic clove, minced 1 cn Stewed tomatoes (1 lb) 2 cn Kidney beans, drained (15oz) 1 cn VEG-ALL Mixed Vegetables, -with liquid (16 oz) 1. Heat oil in 3-quart pot. Add onion and green pepper and cook until soft. 2. Add ground beef, garlic, stewed tomatoes, and kidney beans. Bring to boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. 3. Stir in VEG-ALL and cook 10 minutes longer.

Neck Meat - Often Overlooked, But Tasty by Scott Leysath
Often shamefully discarded, venison necks have some of the most flavorful meat on the animal. Either cooked as a bone-in roast or filleted like my extremely talented friend, Tiffany Haugen, demonstrates in the video, you brown it and let the slow-cooker do the work. After several hours, the meat strips off the bone to make tacos, barbecue, stews and more. Tiffany authors several fish and game cookbooks and food columns and she’s a great public speaker. We’re lucky to have her as a regular co-host of the Sporting Chef TV show on Sportsman Channel.
I’m sure there’s no way to accurately determine how much good deer meat is carelessly left behind because we don’t take the time to remove and properly prepare necks, ribs and shanks. As hunters, we owe it to ourselves not to waste this valuable resource. Besides, these parts are really great to eat!
Y'all better watch out for this guy in the Public Safety Chili Cook-Off this October - Tech Buchanan has two chili cook-off titles under his belt! As for the ingredients...he wouldn't show you his recipe for real now, would he?? ????
