1 1/2 cups egg whites
about 12 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
1 cup cake flour
***glaze*** 1/3 cup butter or margarine
2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons apple juice :
-or-
apple cider
In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt on medium speed until soft peaks form. Add sugar, 2 T. at a time, beating well after each addition; beat until smooth and glossy and stiff peaks form. Add extracts on low speed. Combine confectioners sugar and flour; gently fold into egg mixture. Pour into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan. Bake on the lowest rack at 375 for 35 to 40 minutes or until top crust is golden brown and cracks feel dry. Immediately invert cake in pan to cool completely. Loosen sides of cake from pan and remove. For glaze, melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in the confectioners sugar and cinnamon. Add apple juice slowly until glaze is thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle over cake. Source: Taste of Home Magazine.

MY 1ST VLOG - CARAMEL APPLE ANGEL FOOD CAKE
In my first vlog I make an angel food cake with a skillet caramel apple topping!
RECIPE......
Follow the directions on the box for the Angel Food Cake
1 Honey Crisp Apple (or any other apple you prefer)
1/4 Cup of Sugar
1/2 Cup of Apple Juice
2 Tablespoons of Butter
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
(I ended up not using the apple pie spice)
Put your apple slices with your butter into a skillet on medium heat and then when the butter is melted add the sugar, cinnamon & apple juice. Cover it for 6 minutes and then stir it and reduce the heat to low. Cover it for another 6 minutes and the apples should be soft and delicious! (Recipe above should also work for 2 apples)

How to Make Angel Food Cake from Scratch with Strawberries and Whipped Cream
===========
In this video, we use a KitchenAid stand mixer to make homemade angel food cake from start to finish! This is the EASIEST and most FOOLPROOF angelfood cake you'll ever make.
PRINT the recipe:
INGREDIENTS
Egg whites - 2.25 cups (575 g)- about 14 large eggs
Sugar - 2.25 cups (450 g)
Water hot - 1/3 cup (75 ml)
Salt - pinch
Cream of tartar - 1.5 tsp (7-8 g)
Vanilla extract - teaspoon (here we infused the sugar with vanilla bean in advance)
Flour - 1.5 cup (192 g); cake flour or all-purpose
Lemon juice - teaspoon
TIPS
Angel food cake must be cooled upside down. Do not remove until the cake is completely cool— at least an hour!
Some pans advertised as angel food cake pans have the wrong shape to hold the angel food cake in the pan as it cools upside down. For the cake stay in the pan, the pan must have pretty straight sides. Here's one we've used that works (affiliate link):

If your cake won't stay in the pan, follow the tip in the video for keeping the removable bottom of the pan attached to the base. Here's the pan featured in the video that requires the hack shown in the video (affiliate link):

Apple Cake (Classic Version) - Joyofbaking.com
Recipe here: Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Apple Cake. An Apple Cake is the perfect Fall dessert, with its chunks of apples, nuts, and raisins, all wrapped in a cinnamon-laced batter. This cake is best served warm from the oven with a dollop of softly whipped cream, a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, or with a little heavy cream poured over the top. Absolutely delicious.

**Please note while watching this video, I was still a VERY new YouTuber and still had a lot to learn. I realize that I should have shown more of what I was doing as I was preparing this recipe, but it's too late for me to go back and change that now. I hope that you're still able to gain some helpful information from this video.**
I've been making this recipe for several years, and it's one of my husband's favorites! I hope that y'all will give it a try and let me know what you think! :)
