I always thought of fougasse as something you looked at, and not actually ate, until I started making them, and I realized they’re every bit as extraordinary as anything else found in a French Bakery. The combination of the thin, chewy, crispy crust, and light, airy crumb inside is beyond additive. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
1 loaf of French Bread
1/2 lb ground meat (I used ground turkey)
1/2 bell pepper
1/2 small red onion
1 pint of mushrooms (I used baby bella mushrooms)
salt and pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
onion powder to taste
12 oz of pasta sauce (or pizza sauce)
8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
Toppings
pepperoni
bell pepper
olives
mushrooms
onions
Bake @ 425ºF for 15 to 18 minutes
