How To make Heavenly Heart Cake
3/4 c Hershey's cocoa
2/3 c Boiling water
3/4 c Butter or margarine;
-softened 2 c Sugar
1 ts Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
2 c Cake flour
Or 1 3/4 cups all-purpose fl -our 1 1/4 ts Baking soda
1/4 ts Salt
3/4 c Buttermilk or sour milk*
Glossy chocolate frosting: 1 1/2 c Mini chips semi-sweet chocol
-ate 2 c Powdered sugar
3/4 c Dairy sour cream
1 ts Vanilla extract
Milk Creamy buttercream frosting: =(recipe follows) Recipe by: www.hersheys.com 1. Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour 2 heart-shaped
pans or 2 9-inch round baking pans. 2. In small bowl, stir together cocoa and boiling water
until smooth; set aside. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy; beat in eggs and cocoa mixture. 3. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add
alternately with buttermilk to butter mixture. 4. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes
or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely. 5. Prepare GLOSSY CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM FROSTING; frost
cake . Pipe border around top edge and base of cake with CREAMY BUTTERCREAM FROSTING. Garnish as desired. 10 to 12 servings. * To sour milk: Use 2 teaspoons white vinegar plus milk to equal 3/4 cup. GLOSSY CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM FROSTING: In medium microwave-safe bowl, place small chocolate chips. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 1 minute; stir. If necessary, microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, just until chips are melted when stirred. Add powdered sugar, sour cream and vanilla; beat until smooth. Add milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, for a thinner consistency. About 2-1/2 cups frosting. CREAMY BUTTERCREAM FROSTING: In small bowl, combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) softened butter or margarine, 2 to 3 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract; beat until smooth and creamy. I started to travel back in my memory lane to that sweet and special day when you first visited our home in March 2020. It seemed like yesterday of that beautiful memory of the yummy breakfast of string hoppers with turkeyberry coconut starry and tomato white curry which was there that day. I regret the chance that I missed to invite you that day for evening tea with extra sun-dried and deep fried puffed spring hoppers, drizzled up with treacle.
Then began an unforgettable loving journey where you never missed to step into our home at least twice a month. The frequent lovely Compliments started to pour in. You never forget to tell us that the each dish that was made is tasty. You started to notice and appreciate the deep bond among grandmother, Malli(Brother) and myself. It was overwhelming. Whenever we laughed, you got together and laughed with us. I recalled how you stated about the feel of the cool breeze which blew from the paddy fields margin our house. How you compared the natural splendour of the blue sky above and the green valleys with crystal clear water flows to a heavenly paradise! Truly You said that you love my country Sri Lanka and also telling that we, who are living in it are so blessed. You were always there waiting for us on the days that we got slightly delayed. So genuinely You always applauded our victories and achievements with sheer joy and happiness.
To celebrate that year long beautiful friendship, I made one of my favourite chocolate cake , with gold leaves and decorated with red cherries to enjoy with you. Since I was sure of your visit as the golden rays of early morning sun, I got some patties with a shape of spreaded sun rays done by my brother.
So here by I cordially invite the million of you my dearest friends, among the hundreds of millions who visited our home at least once to taste a piece of chocolate cake, and to taste a patty which was made by Malli and to taste that special cup of tea made specially for you by Grandmother.

Heaven On Earth Cake -- No Bake Dessert -- Light, Refreshing, Summer Dessert
HEAVEN ON EARTH CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
1 angel food cake a pre-made cake or bake a boxed angel food cake mix and let it cool
1 can cherry pie filling 18 ounces
1 package instant vanilla pudding mix 3.6 ounces
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
8 ounces Cool Whip
Optional: sliced almonds for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut the cooled angel food cake into cubes about 1 inch in size.
2. Layer half of the cake pieces evenly in the bottom of a 9×9 cake pan (metal or glass).
3. Spread 2/3 of the cherry pie filling evenly over the cake.
4. Layer the last half of the cake cubes over the cherry pie filling.
5. In a medium bowl stir together the pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth, about 2 minutes. Spread evenly over the top of the cake.
6. Spread the Cool Whip evenly over top of the pudding layer. Drop and spread the rest of the cherry pie filling over the top.
7. Place in the fridge and let chill 4 to 5 hours before serving.
8. Sprinkle slivered almonds on top of the cake before you serve it, optional.

10. This cake needs at least 4 to 5 hours in the fridge so it can soak up all of the flavors. Overnight is even better.
