Bake Along With Me - Lace Cookies (Lacies)
My dad loves to bake. He will randomly ask if I want to bake something with him at almost every visit. So this newest dabbling adventure wasn't a big surprise to me. I thought I'd help out by making a video recipe.
Here's the recipe:
1 cup chopping or crushed almonds
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3/4 dark brown sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Set the oven rack up at the top of the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 F (or 355 - 360F if you're over 7000 ft.)
Spoon caramel batter onto cookie sheet, evenly spaced about three inches. Usually about six or eight spoonfuls per sheet. Bake for 3 minutes, rotate pan, then another 4 minutes.

Kimberly and Amanda make Jay's favorite cookie in their first ever Twitch stream from April 10th, 2022.
This recipe is loosely based off of this fabulous recipe from Bakerita (which is loosely based off of the Trader Joe's classic):
There's chaos, comedy, and - most importantly - cookies.
If you'd like to catch the chaos live on Twitch, pop on over to twitch.tv/kitchenettebestfriends every Sunday at 3:30 pm eastern, where Kimberly and Amanda will be branching out into some increasingly ambitious (and largely Gluten-Free) bakes, while simultaneously working to build a lifelong best friendship. There will be giggles and baked goods.
