Superfoods - Moist Turkey Burger Recipe
Turkey Burgers show up everywhere, at fast food restaurants, at diners, at those gourmet burger joints popping up all over the place. One of the most common pitfalls of turkey burgers is, of course, that they're dry. Really dry. Sahara Desert in the summer dry. We experimented and figured out how to make a moist, juicy turkey burger with a superfoods kick.
Juicy Turkey Burger
Ingredients
3/4 pound ground turkey
1 zucchini, grated
1 carrot, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
¼ red onion, minced
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg
1 tablespoons olive oil
Whole Wheat English Muffins (Toasted)
tomato, sliced
SuperSauce (recipe Follows)
Supersauce
¼ cup yogurt
zest of one lemon
2 tbsp minced dill
1 grated clove garlic
1 tsp sriracha
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Instructions
First, make the sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients.
Taste, season, keep cold until needed
Next, make the burgers. Combine turkey, zucchini, carrot, garlic, thyme, and the onion.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg, salt, and pepper
Drizzle into turkey mixture
Mix until just combined
Form into 4 patties
Cook in skillet with olive oil until cooked through.
transfer to english muffins. Top with sliced tomatoes and sauce

TURKEY BURGERS
Ingredients
· 1 lb lean ground turkey
· 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
· 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
· 2 tbsp ketchup
· 3/4 tsp salt
· freshly ground black pepper to taste
· 1 tbsp canola oil
· don’t forget your favorite condiments & toppings
Instructions
1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F.
2. Chop half of a medium onion and dice finely.
3. In a medium size bowl, add the ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt and pepper. Mix well with a fork.
4. Chill mixture for about 10 minutes in the freezer. This will help the patties stay together.
5. Divide the mixture into 4 even patties, about half an inch thick. Place on a lined baking sheet and cook for 25 minutes in the pre-heated oven.
6. Heat canola oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for about 90 seconds on each side.
7. Serve up on buns with your favorite condiments and toppings.
Notes
• We did half of a large onion since we like the taste of onion.
• Instead of cooking in the oven, you can sear both sides for 5 minutes.

Easy Turkey Burger Recipe w/ Healthy Heels
Need to meal prep for this week? Looking for at-home lunch/dinner plans? Looking to try something new? I got you covered but, I am no Tasty Chef.
Nadia’s Turkey Burger Recipe (yields 6-8 burgers)
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 tbsp bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 2-3 tbsp milk or milk alternative
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tbsp cooking oil or cooking spray
- All the burger fixins’ (ie. buns, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, etc.)
Optional:
- 1 small onion finely diced
- 1 bell pepper or 7-8 sweet peppers finely diced
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- Cajun seasoning
*Be sure to wash your hands when handling raw meat*
1. Mix the ground turkey bread crumbs, egg, milk, (onions, peppers,) and seasonings.
2. Coat pan with cooking oil.
3. Cook the patties in a medium skillet over medium heat, turning once, to an internal temperature of 180 degrees F. 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown (or just very very brown :).
4. Enjoy!
