BBQ sauce recipe
In this video, Chef Cristian Feher shows you how to quickly make a rich, thick, barbecue sauce that will caramelize when slathered and heated in an oven or grill.
The secret to a proper barbecue sauce is sourcing a ketchup base that is made with sugar, and not high fructose corn syrup. As you will learn in this video, sugar is a crystal and it will caramelize (create a crust) when heated. Hight fructose corn syrup will not.

Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons of butter
1/2 red onion
1 clove of garlic (or about 1 teaspoon)
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of lemon juice
2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
1 teaspoon of tomato paste
1 Tablespoon of yellow mustard
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of chili powder
Add salt and pepper as desired (I didn't add any)
Directions:
Melt the butter in a saucepan on medium high heat. Add your onions and cook for about 3 minutes.
Add your garlic and cook for 2 minutes stirring continuously.
Add the rest of your ingredients and mix it together. Let it simmer until it reaches desired texture.
To make the sauce smooth, run it through a blender. Or you can leave it chunky. Either way still tastes delicious!
