8 lb Meaty beef short ribs
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Black pepper
6 cl Garlic; coarsely chopped
4 md Carrots; diagonally sliced
3 md Onion; sliced
1 1/2 c Barbecue sauce
1 cn Tomato sauce; 15oz
1 cn Beef broth; 13oz, reduced
. sodium 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Sprinkle ribs with
salt and pepper; place in single layer in a large noasting pan. Roast nbs I hour, until nicely browned and some of the fat is rendered, turning once. Transfer ribs to a large plate; drain all but 1 tablespoon drippings from pan. To drippings, stir in garlic, carrots and onion. Retum to oven and roast 15 to 20 minutes. 2. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F. To
vegetables in pan, stir in banbecue sauce, tomato sauce, broth and 1/2 cup water. Return ribs to pan, spooning some sauce over them. Tightly cover with foil. Bake ribs 1 3/4 hours, or until very tender, turning once. Skim fat off surface. Dinner Plan: Remove 1/2 of ribs and sauce to a microwaveproof container; cool, then freeze for later use. Serve remaining ribs. (Approximate microwave times: Defnost 25 minutes; reheat 6 minutes, shifting ribs once or twice.) -----

EASY Oven Baked Beef Short Ribs | The PERFECT Indoor BBQ Beef Ribs
Get ready to fall in love with these oven-baked beef short ribs! They are the epitome of comfort food, with fall-off-the-bone tender meat and a rich, savory sauce. This recipe is easy to make and will have your house smelling amazing in no time. In just over three hours, you'll have a delicious, hearty meal that's perfect for a cozy night in or a special occasion. I get it, some of you are skeptical. BBQ can't be done in the house... it has to be on a smoker, grill, or not at all! yeah I heard you. Trust me on this one, these BBQ beef ribs that I make in the oven are delicious and take VERY little prep!
I start off by wiping off the beef plate short ribs with a paper towel, then I score the back side (bone side) with a knife. This helps with the pull back as they cook. Then I use some olive oil as a binder and put a light shiny coat on all side. Now its time to season them. I like to use a salt and pepper based rub at a minimum or at least a starting point, and that EXACTLY what I did with my homemade rub:
2 TBSP Coarse Black Pepper
1 TBSP Salt
1 TBSP Lawry's Seasoned Salt. ( )
1 TBSP Granulated Garlic
1 tsp Granulated Onion
1 tsp Paprika
1.5 tsp Brown Sugar
But no worries if you aren't interested in making your own... here are a couple rubs that I suggest for Beef Ribs:

- Bearded Butchers Brock Lesnar ( )
I season all side and place them in the preheated oven set at 300F.
Now this is the CRITICAL part! Beef ribs vary in thickness quite a bit, therefore the times will also vary. I set my timer to 2HR 15Min to start and at that point I begin checking for tenderness with a toothpick. I will continue to add more time to the timer until I get VERY little resistance with the toothpick. For me and these oven beef ribs, it took 3hr 15min for me to be happy with the tenderness.
Now I turned the oven to 425F and added sauce to my ribs. I used the Hey Grill Hey Everything BBQ Sauce ( ).
Once the oven was up to 425F I returned the beef short-ribs to the oven for 5-6 minutes to caramelize the sauce!
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest covered for 25-30min then enjoy!

This simple braised BBQ beef short ribs recipe bakes a long time in the oven but it is so easy and delicious. Salt and pepper the ribs. Simply lay the beef (bones down) in a baking dish, snuggle the ribs close together, and cover tightly with aluminum. Bake in oven at 275F.
Go the extra mile. 3 ½ hours may be perfect in your oven, but most ovens need 4 hours.
Don't want to cook it in the oven? No problem - throw them in your crockpot or in an Instant-pot.
Forgot to grab the bbq sauce or don't have it? Skip it or throw some ketchup mixed with brown sugar on the top instead.
This recipe is a starting off point. Feel free to dress up the ribs with some of your favorite spices: cumin, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried herbs, etc...
Crockpot users: Toss all the ingredients plus 1 cup beef broth into the crockpot and cook low 6-8 hours.
Insta Pot users: Sear the meats first and set aside. Toss all ingredients plus 1 cup broth into the pot and set for 45 minutes. Follow cool down instructions. If time is low throw it all without searin & walk away.
Serving Size: 4
Ingredients
•8 beef bone-in beef short ribs
•1 tsp salt
•¼ tsp pepper
•⅓ cup bbq sauce
Instructions
•Preheat oven to 275F.
•Salt and pepper the beef. Lay the beef (bone side down) in a baking dish, snuggle the ribs close together and cover tightly with aluminum foil. I use 2 sheets of foil.
•Cook ~ 3 ½ - 4 hours or until bone starts to separate from the meat and meat is tender.
•Uncover, drain off any liquid or excess fat (you don't want to start a fire if your broiler runs uber hot. Ribs are fatty and the grease could catch on fire so don't skip this step) OR place ribs on an aluminum lined baking sheet if you don't want to drain the hot baking dish (see video).
•Remove any excess fat from the top of the ribs with a butter knife (see video).
Baste on bbq sauce (my favorite bbq sauce is Sweet Baby Ray's). Broil on low for 2-4 minutes (watching carefully so it doesn't burn) or until caramelized.
•Serve with potato salad or corn on the cob. Happy Eating! Beckie
