1 qt Vinegar 2 qt Water 1 c Salt Dill (to taste) Garlic (to taste) 1 ga Pickles Wash cucumbers thoroughly and place them in very hot water. In a large pot boil vinegar, water and salt for 2 minutes. Drain hot water from cucumbers and put in sterile jars with dill and garlic. Pour boiling solution over cucumbers and seal immediately. Open in 3 to 4 weeks. Homemade Dill Pickles - You Can Pickle Anything with this Recipe and Technique
Preserve fresh food with this simple gourmet pickle recipe.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: -Pickling Cucumbers (sliced) -1 large clove of garlic for each jar (peeled) -1 cut slice of a medium white onion for each jar (peeled) -1 or 2 fresh sprigs of dill for each jar -5 or 6 black peppercorns for each jar -¼ teaspoon mustard seed for each jar -¼ teaspoon fennel for each jar -1 small fresh red cayenne pepper for each jar (optional) Brine: -2 quarts of water -2 cups of white vinegar -½ cup of canning (pickling) salt
