???? Delicious PEAR PIE Recipe from scratch | THANKSGIVING PIE Recipe
If you love pear desserts, then you should try this absolutely delicious Pear Pie Recipe made from scratch. I'm showing you in this video how to make a perfect pie crust just with a few ingredients and an incredible tasty pear pie filling with cinnamon flavor. Such a perfect Thanksgiving Pie Recipe Idea!
Ingredients
Pie crust:
flour 450g.
a pinch of salt
sugar 3 tablespoons
very cold butter cubed 225g.
very cold water 175ml.
Pear filling:
4 large pears *peeled
sugar 150g.
corn starch 30g.
vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
allspice (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger powder, and cloves) 1 teaspoon
Rhum or similar 1 tablespoon
zest of one lemon
Eggwash: 1 egg and a drop of milk
Instructions:
1. Peel off the pears and cut them into small pieces. Mix with sugar, corn starch, vanilla extract, spices, rum, and lemon zest. Then let to rest for 1 hour.
2. Mix the flour with cubed butter, salt, sugar, and cold water. Don't over mix / knead. Cover with food plastic wrap and let rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
3. Once the dough is cold enough, divide it into two halves. Roll one of the halves and place it on a greased pie tray. Pinch with the fork then place the pears (without adding the liquid).
4. Roll the second dough and cover the pie.
5. Brush with one egg and a drop of milk. Sprinkle some sugar and bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 45-50 minutes.

Ingredients for making pear custard pie (pear clafoutis):
1/4 cup of unsalted butter melted
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 firm pears, cored, peeled and thinly sliced
Instructions for making crustless pear custard pie:
- First in a bowl add your unsalted butter melted
- Followed by adding your eggs
- Now you add your milk to the bowl
- Followed by your kosher salt
- And now you can add your sugar
- Now add your all purpose flour
- Followed by your vanilla extract
- Mix everything together with a whisk
- Now sift the mixture through a strainer into a new bowl
- In a frying pan, add your pear slices
- Cover the pears with your custard mix
- Add another layer of pears on top
- And cover those with your custard mix
- Bake at 350F for 40-45 minutes
- Your crustless pear custard pie is now ready to eat

Full recipe
Crust
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup butter flavor shortening
1/3 cup ice water
5 peeled apples
3 peeled pears
Filling
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1 cup sugar
2/4 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg (beaten)
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1. In a large bowl, combine flour and cold, cubed butter.
2. Use a pastry cutter or fork to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Slowly add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together.
4. Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 1 hour.
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (190°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sliced pears, butter, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the fruit evenly.
3. Roll out one of the chilled pie crust disks on a floured surface to fit the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish.
4. Place the rolled-out crust into the pie dish.
5. Add the fruit mixture into the pie crust.
6. Roll out the second pie crust disk and place it over the fruit filling. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
7. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.
8. Beat the egg and brush it over the top crust for a golden finish.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.
10. Allow the pie to cool for a bit before serving. Enjoy your homemade apple and pear pie!

1 Lemon
50g Sugar, white (0.25c)
15g All Purpose Flour (2T)
7 Pears, any flavour that looks good just be sure they are semi ripe at least
Topping
70g All Purpose Flour (0.5c)
105g Sugar, white (0.5c)
1t Ginger, ground
1t Cinnamon, ground
1/4t Nutmeg, ground
