How To make Hawaiian Sweet And Sour Meatballs
1 1/2 lb Ground beef
1/4 t Nutmeg
1 t Salt
2 T Salad oil
1/2 c Brown sugar
2 c Fresh pineapple chunks
2 Eggs
1 Onion, minced
1/4 t Pepper
2 Green peppers,bite size
1/4 t Garlic powder or minced garl
4 T Cornstarch
1 1/4 c Pineapple juice
1 T Soy sauce
1/3 c Water
3 T Vinegar
Blend together beef, eggs, 1 t cornstarch, onion, pepper, nutmeg, salt, and garlic. Form into 1-inch balls. Heat oil in skillet; brown meatballs on all sides. In large saucepan add remaining cornstarch, soy sauce, vinegar, water, and brown sugar to pineapple juice. Cook until thickened; stir constantly. Add meatballs, fruit, and peppers. Cook 5 minutes or until fruit is well heated. Yield 4 to 6
servings.

RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
26 oz. frozen homestyle meatballs
20 oz. can. pineapple chunks drained
8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts drained
14.5 oz. can baby corn drained
2 bell peppers (I use one red and one green) cut into one-inch pieces
1 white onion cut into one-inch pieces
2 garlic cloves minced
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
14.5 oz. bottle sweet and sour sauce (I use Sunluck Brand) Or use a can of Contadina Sweet and Sour Sauce
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
5-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add the frozen meatballs to the slow cooker.
Next, add the pineapple and vegetables.
Add the garlic and red pepper flakes.
Pour over the sweet and sour sauce. Stir to coat the meatballs and vegetables in the sauce.
Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or low for 5 hours, stirring occasionally.
Serve with rice or chow mein noodles and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
1 tablespoons canola oil
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
398 ml canned pineapple chunks with juice (about 2 cups with pineapple and juice)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
3 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
salt and pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large skillet, saute peppers on oil until crisp-tender.
Add garlic and ginger and cook 1 minute.
Stir in the pineapple chunks with juice.
In a large glass measuring cup or bowl, whisk together the sugar, vinegar, ketchup, corn starch and soy sauce. Add to the pan with the peppers and pineapple.
Add the meatballs, and simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened and meatballs are heated through.
Taste and adjust salt and pepper if necessary. If desired for a milder sauce, stir in 1/4 cup of water or broth.
